This is a Skills Poster that is designed to set the grounding for a basic understanding of Percentages and how they work. This poster is meant as a complimentary aid and is to be used with other learning materials. It is a simple visualisation of percentages. Many posters and learning aids show how Percentages work in comparison to other ways of dividing and measuring. There are very few visual aids dedicated to the concept of Percentages first and foremost before comparing it to other ratio methods. The term, "percent", has it's basis in Latin. An understanding of the meaning of the word can help a basic understanding take hold before using the concept to compare it to other forms of dividing and measuring. Check The Temp - Measuring the Median
By YourTeachingDoc
The Median can be a difficult concept for students to master. A relevant approach to teaching the statistical value of the Median is to have students determine the High and Low temperatures of the weather for a week. To facilitate this, a worksheet has been designed as an easy way to integrate extra practice during Bell Ringers or Warm-Up activities.

FRENCH MATHS | ACTIVITÉ | GÉOMÉTRIE | AIRE, VOLUME OU PÉRIMÈTRE | SITUATIONS
By French Made Fun!
My students sometimes have a hard time differentiating between area, volume and perimeter. This 10-slide presentation gives real-life situations and asks them which of the three they'd use to solve the problems. Similar to how they'd solve written problems, except there are no numbers - just images and concepts to get them thinking.
This takes the fear out of written problems (raise your hand if your students get spooked!) and gives them an idea (without numbers involved) to think outside the box about these three operations!

Real-Life Math fun activity! Volume of Prisms- Did I get cheated with Ice Cream?
By Daniel
This printable resource includes a task with complete key. Students will use their knowledge of the volume of a prism to do an investigation into fair marketing and sales practices. Lots of containers of consumer products have a "false bottom". Do the retailers cheat us with this or do we get the amount we pay for? Other math topics needed to do this resource successfully include area of circles, ratios and percents.
Nothing compares with ice-cream, and that is why your child will remember this activity for a long time! Did they get cheated with the amount of ice-cream? No better Real-Life Math application than this.
