As time moves on, many great Americans who have shaped the arts, sciences, sports, and history of our nation and culture get lost in time. The Great Americans Series of Biographies and Worksheets is an easy-to-read 200-word biography of just the highlights of each subject's life designed to keep young readers engaged. The questions worksheet ensures student reading comprehension and grasp of key points. Pablo Picasso was among the most impactful artists of the 20th century. He is recognized for co-founding the Cubist movement, creating constructed sculpture, co-inventing collage, and for the diverse range of styles that he contributed to and examined.

For approximately 80 of his 91 years, Picasso dedicated himself to creating art that played a crucial role in the overall progress of modern art during the 20th century, especially through the creation of Cubism (alongside artist Georges Braque) around 1907.

Picasso is often regarded as THE genius of the twentieth century. Possibly more than any other artist, he transformed the course of art, initiating the modernist movement. He was an innovator of Cubism, subsequently of collage art, and eventually neo-classicism.

This lesson plan centers around the artwork of Pablo Picasso. Numerous activities are provided, arranged in two worksheets. Their answers are provided in the end. Six of his most famous works are also included.

I use this as an introduction activity for my middle school A/V Broadcasting class. I present a really quick overview of film and then they pick a topic with a partner. We take 2-3 days to research and build our presentations and then we take 2-3 days to present our findings. It's a quick introduction to the different periods of film, plus it allows me to see/hear all of my students before we start making videos.

I've included my rubric, which can be easily added into your LMS platform.

After reading Ghost by Jason Reynolds, give your students a creative end-of-the-unit outlet to show how well they comprehended the themes, meanings, and connections in the novel!

Ghost’s shoes represent much more than the fact that they are merely a pair of shoes. For this project, students will create a visual representation of Ghost’s old pair of shoes and the “silver bullets.”

Requirements:

1. Be creative!
2. Be neat!
3. Clearly state what each pair of shoes mean to him and how they are represented.
4. Show what they learned from this story:

• Make connections
• ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF :)
