I am so proud of this art portfolio cover, for years I left for the last minute to do my art portfolio covers, but since I created these covers it made my life easier. I normally choose one design for each grade and Voalá. Parents like to see a beautiful cover on the portfolios.

Make a great and easy art portfolio cover this year! Use these coloring sheets to create an art portfolio cover for your kiddos, it can be used with all grades. Students may color with a variety of supplies and can add their touch to it! Or you may choose to incorporate the design process into a lesson plan. When students are done, the completed artwork can be affixed to the face of a large folder or other type of portfolio material. This no prep Google Slides project works perfectly with almost any middle grade/YA fiction novel. While students are highly engaged and thinking creatively they are simultaneously analyzing text elements such as the plot, conflict, resolution, theme, and point of view of various characters. This resource includes directions, an editable yearbook template, and a teacher exemplar in case students need ideas bringing their work to life. Integrates seamlessly to Google Classroom!

The ELA department at my school uses independent projects like these in our choice boards as students finish their work early. This would also be great to replace book reports or as an extension or passion project!

Creative Projects in Animoto utilizes the free Web 2.0 tool www.animoto.com which allows students to create and edit videos online and then share their finished product. No download is required to use the product, making it easy for teachers who are not able to download software on classroom computers to still give their students a choice in learning.

In these lessons, students are provided with a quick tutorial, as well as links to other resources to help them with their projects. The tutorial is intended to help students get started with the program and then use the resources within the program to refine their creations.

Also included is a list of 12 easy project ideas to allow the teacher and student a choice in how to demonstrate knowledge of Animoto and the lesson content. Use one or let students choose from several! General project instructions and expectations, along with a grading rubric are also included.

I use this as an introduction activity for my middle school A/V Broadcasting class. I present a really quick overview of film and then they pick a topic with a partner. We take 2-3 days to research and build our presentations and then we take 2-3 days to present our findings. It's a quick introduction to the different periods of film, plus it allows me to see/hear all of my students before we start making videos.

I've included my rubric, which can be easily added into your LMS platform.

After reading Ghost by Jason Reynolds, give your students a creative end-of-the-unit outlet to show how well they comprehended the themes, meanings, and connections in the novel!

Ghost’s shoes represent much more than the fact that they are merely a pair of shoes. For this project, students will create a visual representation of Ghost’s old pair of shoes and the “silver bullets.”

Requirements:

1. Be creative!
2. Be neat!
3. Clearly state what each pair of shoes mean to him and how they are represented.

Linear Relationships Art #1 - Graphing Straight Lines - PBL, Project Based Learning

This math art project embodies the principles of project-based learning, merging mathematics with artistic expression to engage students in a multifaceted educational experience. Students will graph 18 linear equations, meticulously tracing each line then creating intricate oblong shapes within spaces created by the lines.

The project culminates in a vibrant display of color as students fill in each unique shape, applying their understanding of mathematical concepts through a creative lens. This approach not only reinforces skills in graphing and geometry but also encourages artistic creativity and attention to detail. Ideal for fostering a deeper appreciation for the intersection of math and art, this project makes learning both interactive and visually compelling.

2 Versions Included

This math art project comes in two versions:

1. Equations are provided - this allows students to begin graph pre-determined equations, all projects will have the same outline. This will still allow for student artistic expression within their shape creation and color choices.

2. The second version is where students craft their own, adhering to specific criteria. The latter challenges gifted and talented learners, promoting higher-order thinking as they develop equations. This self-generated approach deepens understanding, fostering analytical skills and creative problem-solving in a mathematically artistic context.
