Do you need a series of writing prompts for your students that you can present in your Zoom class or on the projector in your classroom?

This is a great opener for your classroom, whether virtually or face-to-face. Each tab of the book (writing stem prompt) represents a "day in the life" of your student. The students can keep an online journal via Google Docs or they can use an "old fashioned" composition notebook.

This resource is a 5th grade and 6th grade informational text writing unit about the 1912 shipping disaster in the Atlantic, the Titanic. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students learning about World History.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs and write an introduction. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.

This is a 50-page set of worksheets for the story "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J. K. Rowling.

I grouped the chapters into pairs (C1, C2-C3, C4-C5, etc...). For each set of two chapters, there are two worksheets:

Each Google Form has five pages of online worksheets. You can use the links to save a copy of the Google Forms to your own Google Drive. Then from your Google Drive, you can share the online worksheets with your students.

Note that the content in the online worksheets is essentially the same as the related content in the PDF file. The purpose of the online worksheets is to allow students the possibility to complete some of the activities online.

Use this assignment for early finishers or to supplement and support any creative writing assignment & quickly elevate your student's storytelling to the next level.
