his 29-page resource with 20 primary sources plus three DBQ prompts gives students a chance to delve deeper into the challenges, obstacles and finally the success of the suffrage movement. The first page includes an Overview, Notes on Primary Sources and Definitions.

Here’s a chance for students to read documents that shed light on various opinions in favor and against suffrage, the differences of opinions within the movement as to strategy and how racial segregation played a role in the movement.

Assign just one, a few or all of the sources depending on time constraints and student interest.

Primary sources include letters, photos, reports and other documents. Each page of primary sources includes questions at the end in order for students to analyze perspectives, consider key ideas and identify bias.

Included is a one-page sheet that explains what primary sources are and how to analyze them using specific questions through a process called HAPPY. There is also a page at the end for students to apply the HAPPY process to one source.

Three DBQ prompts are included at the end with instructions on how to create a response to the prompt. An Answer Key to all the questions and the DBQ prompts are available at the end of the packet.

This is excellent practice for all high school students, particularly Honors and AP students, but all students will find these resources engaging.

Indeed, some scholars have suggested that the insults in Shakespeare's plays amount to their own education in wit. If your students are sufficiently mature, you could use this exercise to invite them to generate their own original Shakespearean insults. (2 pages)

• At the end of the note taking lesson and practice, students will create a podcast using an online voice recorder that somehow helps to illustrate the topic that they have chosen.

Looking for an engaging way to get your ESL students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

You can easily modify this game to play it with all levels!  You are going to love hearing your students speaking in English to each other about all kinds of vocabulary words in this classic version that has no particular theme.

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

In this product, students will learn the English vocabulary word for the 126 different adjective vocabulary words presented.

Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language after learning the English word and being shown a picture.

In the second section of the product, there is a adjective vocabulary review that requires students to write the English word for each adjective. At the end of this section, students will have the opportunity to choose 20 adjective vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each one. Students will also be provided with comprehension sentences regarding adjectives that were reviewed.

In the third section of the product, students will write each adjective in English and in their native language.

In the fourth section of the product, there is an adjective vocabulary review that requires students to make up a sentence for each adjective vocabulary word learned in their native language.

In the fifth section of this product, students will then be required to make up a sentence for each adjective in English.

Sentence diagramming is so helpful when teaching students parts of speech and sentence structure. The repetitiveness of diagramming for a bell ringer is extremely beneficial for students. I tried grammar workbooks for years, but my students hardly retained anything. Daily sentence diagramming made them remember their parts of speech, and was an amazing foundation for my students to have when we started forming different types of sentences. This technique provided my students a strong enough foundation to truly understand gerunds, participles, and infinitives!
