At the end, wrap it up and put on a show! Want to layer it?

• Have tambourines or shakers play on specified beats (try 2 and 4)
• Have shakers play 16th notes all the way throughout or in specific sections

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students.  You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district.  As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones.  With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

Is there Spring Fever  in the air?  These activities will get your Spanish students speaking, writing  and writing about primavera in a variety of engaging ways!  Practice interpretive listening, presentational and interpersonal speaking and writing while keeping students producing lots of Spanish!

Vacaciones en España focuses on a trip to the beach town of Benidorm, on the West Coast of Spain.  This Google Slides presentation contains vibrant photos of real people, which makes it engaging for students.  Each slide comes with text to explain what they’re seeing. Within the presentation are links to reading, writing, speaking and listening activities.  This activity is great for a travel theme and when students are starting to learn the past tense! Avila is a similar format to Vacaciones en España. The Google Slides™ presentation contains original photographs from Ávila, Spain, a beautiful and medieval city to the north of Madrid. Each slide contains text taking students through Ávila’s past (its incredible walls, towers and cathedral) and present-day life with some views of the city!  The text is mainly written in both present and past (preterite and imperfect) and therefore is great for Years 2, 3 and 4. The Escape Room is a student favorite! It comes in a Spanish and English version, and students must follow the clues to help solve a crime.  The clues take them all around Spain where they will learn about various aspects of the culture.  Each clue they solve reveals the next clue! Is there a Fall Feel in the air?  These Spanish fall activities will get your students talking, writing and listening about otoño, Halloween and Día de los muertos in an engaging way.  Practice both presentational and interpersonal speaking and writing while keeping students producing lots of Spanish! Give them comprehensible input with comprehension questions that are either open-ended or self-correcting MCQ!

Use these resources in all of your levels!  They’re already differentiated!  Those days when you’re just exhausted, progress reports were due, you were correcting benchmarks, when you need sub plans.... And now you don’t have a great lesson plan for tomorrow?  No worries!  These activities will get you through!  And best of all- students will be working hard in the target language and having fun!

The writing prompts are awesome!  They are differentiated for Novice High and Intermediate Low students.  Each level has 2 prompts; one about Halloween and another about Día de los muertos.  This resource comes with 

-vocab lists to students with season-specific vocab

-graphic organizer

-ideas for how to make this a group task (for less correcting for you!)

-a rubric

The Open-Ended Task Cards are also amazing!  They are so versatile and can be used in so many ways!  There are 20 different prompts related to fall themes and they encourage creativity with their language.  Vocab that may be unfamiliar is given right on the card!  Here are some ideas about how you can use them. 

-print them.  Pass them out to your class.  Ask each student to do a 10 minute free write.

-Display one card for the class.  Everyone writes about that topic.  (Great for a warm-up each day!)

The Listening Activity is authentic, curated to make sure it's appropriate for students, and comes with 2 options for comprehension questions! Students will listen to a short video about tips for starting a new school year. You can assign the open ended questions (answer key included) or you can assign the Edpuzzle version with Multiple Choice Questions that are self-grading.

The Día de los muertos vocab puzzle is a great way to practice vocab related to this holiday.  Students use their mouse (or cursor) to manipulate digital puzzle pieces and match up vocabulary terms to put the puzzle together!
