Eight different lessons to create high interest projects in the areas of Fashion Design, Interior Design and Graphic Design give students a choice of which activity they would enjoy. Or, if you prefer, you can choose one or two to assign to your class. Each lesson gives an option that students can do on the computer or without any technology at all.

This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

Included in this download are the requirements for each of these lessons and resources for ideas, along with a rubric and sample completed lesson. Students choose from:

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop gives students a step-by-step tutorial to learn the beginning commands of Adobe Photoshop. After following the instruction (screen shots are included), students combine their “before” and “after” pictures into a simple PowerPoint (or Google Slides) to make grading easy. Finally, students complete a short creative activity to demonstrate their understanding of their learning. Additional links to other tutorials are also included in the lesson to assist learners, as needed. Instructions are for the paid PC version of Adobe Photoshop CC (2014 or 15), but are easily modifiable for Apple/MAC computers. Real Estate Career Simulation: Flip a House Project lets middle schoolers see how real estate investors purchase, improve, and resell homes for a profit. Utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel, students “purchase” a home of choice from a list and then determine the improvements they want to make to it, all while staying within their budget. Then, they design the home, using Web 2.0 tools (www.floorplanner.com or www.homestyler.com ) or Sketchup (a free download available at: http://www.sketchup.com/download ). Finally, students use Microsoft Word to prepare a one-page sale flyer for their renovated home. Note: This lesson is intended for beginning Excel users and was created using Microsoft Excel 2016. It is easily adaptable for different versions.

Creating an Animated Gif in Adobe Photoshop is a project for students with basic knowledge of some of the common Adobe Photoshop commands. The project includes step-by-step instructions to guide students through the project of turning photos or clip art into an animated Gif. Learning about Typography: Kinetic Typography is a two-part lesson to give students an introduction to typography. This is perfect for a technology class that focuses on web design or graphic design, or for an art class.
