Math- Tac- Toe Quadratic Factoring: 3 levels a=1, a is prime, a can be composite

By Howlin' Husky Math Games

Check out the free DEMO before you buy!

If you are interested in more math games, like this one, for students, follow me! Please leave a comment! Whether it's good or bad, I appreciate it!

It's Tic-Tac-Toe... but with math!

Students can practice factoring quadratics in this player vs player game.

Problems randomly generated are a FACTORABLE quadratic every time. Includes possible negative a's, b = 0, c = 0. It also includes problems where students may have to factor out a GCF first. No solutions need Quadratic Formula to find. No two sheets will be the same because the problems are completely randomly generated within the constraints.

Features:

* Runs anywhere Google Sheets can run.

*Three levels. a = 1, a is prime, a can be composite

* Computer generates unlimited problems, runs the game, and knows when students are right or wrong.

* Students are given 10 questions. The first to answer all 10 correct, picks the square.

* Computer checks the answers and knows when someone wins!

* Students can use their own avatars or take from 7 supplied.

In this version, answers must be completely factored and in an acceptable format for the computer to mark it correct. This means negative leading coefficients and GCFs MUST be factored and placed in front. Each factor MUST have parentheses around them, even they are a monomial (The order of these factors don't matter). There MUST be no spaces in your answer.

NOTE: This sheet contains a script that needs your okay to run. A warning message will pop-up. The script is written in Google App Script and is safe. The script modifies only its own sheets and nothing else. You can view the script through the Extensions-> App Script

Email me if you have any issues!! I'm happy to help.

By Kile's Classroom

Great End of the Year Test Prep! Use this great resource to keep your students aware of the essentials they must know during their middle school years. The Essential Skills resource page can be used as a teaching tool as skills are being taught, or use it as a review tool toward the end of the year. Each section has blank spots (red sections) for students to fill in and apply the knowledge they have learned. 8th Grade Math Review Game - End of Year - All Standards - Game Show Style

By The M-Intercept

8th grade math teachers - looking for a fun and engating way to review concepts at the End of the Year? Need a great test prep tool to review before state assessments, the SBAC, or Common Core tests, or just play at the end of the year in 7th grade math?

Students will love this Jeopardy-like game to review Common Core standards. Categories include FUNCTIONS, NUMBER SYSTEMS, EXPRESSIONS & EQUATIONS, GEOMETRY, PROBABILITY & STATISTICS, AND VOCABULARY. Points range from 100 - 500, which reflect the increase in difficulty from 100-point basic review questions to 500-point questions that require students to apply their knowledge.

**FULLY EDITABLE** While the game is complete, it is also editable in PowerPoint, making it easy to add questions or change the level of difficulty based on your students' needs.

FUNCTIONS: involve determining whether or not a graph or equation is a function, reading function, tables, graphs, and equations, and comparing functions.

NUMEBR SYSTEMS: in this category students determine whether or not a number is rational, find approximate values for irrational numbers, convert a repeating decimal to a fraction, and compare values of both rational and irrational numbers.

EXPRESSIONS & EQUATIONS: these problems have students use integer exponent properties, find the equation of a line, compare two values in scientific notation, and solve a system of equations with two equations (one solution).

GEOMETRY: questions involve finding missing angle measurements, finding the volume of a cylinder, and answering questions about transformations.

PROBABILITY & STATISTICS: students must read and understand scatter plots and double frequency tables. They must find the equation of a line of best fit, or a trend line.

VOCABULARY : questions ask about transformation, angle pairs, types of decimals, rational and irrational numbers, and formulas for finding volume.
