Free High School Spanish Activities

Get your students more motivated in class with puntos. Using these tickets with “puntos” is a great classroom management system when you want your class follow directions. I give “puntos” to my classes when students participate, use their Spanish in full sentences or when transitions are good, taking advantage of every minute that we have. At the end of each day or week we count how many points we have and if we have certain amount, we can celebrate with a “fiesta”, movie or games.

This BINGO card is a great ice breaker for the first days of Spanish class! Each student receives a card and then moves around the classroom meeting new people and asking questions to get to know them better. When they find someone who can say "Yes" to a box, they will cross it off and write that person's name on it. The first person to get a BINGO reads their card out loud so the class can get to know their new friends as well!

This activity is designed for students with no previous Spanish knowledge (MS Spanish, Intro to Languages, Foundations of Spanish, and Spanish I), but my returning Spanish 2 students loved it as well. This card is in English for beginning Spanish learners.

Are you looking for a community building speaking activity for the beginning of school in which the students can get to know each other while reviewing the present tense? This is a great Back to School ice breaker activity for levels Spanish 2, 3 or 4 for the first month of school or if you want to give the students an opportunity to get out of their seats and talk to their classmates. This would be a fun social emotional activity since it promotes positive communication among the students in the class. It is also an interactive way to reinforce the present tense at the beginning of the year. Even though this is a novice activity, it would be a good review for the upper level classes who need to know the present, past and future tenses for the Seal of Biliteracy test.

Are you looking for an easy, low-prep way to learn or review the conjugations of -ar verbs in the imperfect tense? This brand-new activity combines reading and coloring to produce a fun way for your students to learn or review the imperfect tense verb endings. This activity is great for last-minute sub plans or days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc) as well as reviewing or reinforcing verbs in the imperfect tense. Preparing for the AP Spanish® Exam? The Argumentative Essay takes lots of practice! Help your students nail this open-ended task on the AP Spanish® Exam by learning how to write awesome intro paragraphs! This digital Google Doc contains 2 introduction paragraphs to a fictional argumentative essay.

Writing an awesome introductory paragraph will set the student up for an organized, quality argumentative essay. Use this activity as you teach students how to follow the rules and requirements of this open-ended task on the AP® Test. There are 2 different introductory paragraphs (one really good, and one missing some important elements). Below each paragraph is a checklist of items that should appear in every good intro paragraph. Students will read and judge for themselves which one is better. In the process they can explain why one is great and the other will not set the writer up for success.

Are you looking for a quick, fun way to get your students practicing the conjugations of regular AR verbs in ANY tense or mood in Spanish? Try out my all-new Cuadritos game for free! This fun, no-prep activity is an engaging way to practice verb conjugations and sentence writing! You can specify the tense and mood, so this could be used at any level! All you need is one copy of the game sheet for each group and recording pages for each student.

This activity can be done in pairs or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing Cuadritos and beg to play whenever we get the chance!

This resource includes 2 versions of the activity, with 16 different regular AR verbs.

• Version 1 (pages 8 and 9) are full-page with all 16 verbs and 16 subject pronouns.
• Version 2 (pages 10-13) are half-page versions of the two games, each with only 8 of the 16 verbs. Two copies of the activity are on each page in version 2.

I inserted multiple choice, auto-graded questions into the recording to help students to find the right spot in the podcast to find the answer.
