Homeschool Mental Math Lesson (by date, oldest first)

Multiplication facts. Perhaps one of the most important skills for a student to learn in order to perform most math operations in the upper grades. These fact booklets provide students ample opportunity to work with their multiplication facts, both in ways that help them UNDERSTAND the facts and commit them to memory from repeated use. There are 12 booklets in this packet, one for each set of facts from one to twelve. Each booklet has 9 half sheet size pages, plus a cover. Students work with facts while filling in number bonds, doing find a number puzzles, skip counting on a hundreds board, doing repeated addition, writing their facts, working with arrays, working with fact families, and playing spinner / dice games. Simply print the booklets your students need, and either assemble yourself, or teach your students to assemble them! Easy to make, fun to do, and great practice without the feeling of "yet another worksheet". Also included is a student chart for up to 30 students to allow you to track your students progress. Each Book Includes

•Numbers in the Bible: A Bible verse or story with the number

•See the Number: Coloring a Tens Frame & Coloring a Tens block in the number. Make this more hands on by using math manipulatives. Counters/Erasers/ One and Ten Blocks, Legos…etc.

•Show the Number: Learn to sign/show the numbers with your fingers then trace it with your hands.

•Write the Number: Trace the number two times, then write in by yourself two times. Writing lines provided

•Counting: Count how many in a Bible Story picture

Included is a Bible Picture . Students are asked to find and count a certain person/animal/thing in the picture and circle them.

•Coloring How Many: Color Crosses: Students color crosses in how many.

•Cut & Paste: Cut and Paste pictures of Animals God created that match the number

•Organized 5 numbers at a time, these are pictures of animals in groups of 1-10. These are small enough to cut out and paste onto the last page of the mini book. Very little ones – You could let them find the right pictures then you may want to cut them out for them. I would suggest printing them on cardstock. You could use color cardstock

Students can use the box to show work to show how much money they will get back or to show work when determining the change they should receive back once an item is purchased.

In this comparing money product, students will add quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies that are worth different amounts. Students will then compare the two amounts and determine if the amounts are greater than, less than, or equal to. One example is provided. A reminder is provided for students to include the $ symbol or decimal after they have added the change together. A box is also provided on each page if students want to show their work. Students will begin by adding and comparing quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies by themselves leading up to mixing and adding quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies together.
