The AP Spanish Language and Culture® Exam is right around the corner! This quiz about the exam parts and strategies comes in digital, print or even a self-correcting Google Form! Assign on Google Classroom (or other learning management platform) for distance learners or print it out for students who are in person. Need to save some time? The Google Form version of the quiz is self-grading!

The digital and print versions of this quiz ask questions about how much each section is worth, how much time is given for each section, specific strategies for each section and vocabulary that is useful for each section. There is an English and a Spanish version of the quiz and an answer key as well! This quiz can be edited to suite your students' needs!

The Google Form version of the quiz is shorter. All questions are multiple choice and therefore grades itself! Students can have instant feedback. Think about using this as a practice before giving the longer form of the quiz! These questions and answers are in English. There are questions about how much each section is worth, how much time is given for each section, and strategies specific to the different parts of the exam.

AP Spanish® teachers- here is a GREAT way to assess both content knowledge and either writing or speaking skill! This assessment can be digital or printable, formative or summative! It can serve as a good introduction to the argumentative essay or a faster way to assess persuasive writing than having students do a full argumentative AP®-style essay. Included in this resource is a student study guide explaining what their task is and some helpful do's and don'ts to writing persuasively!

Instead of an entire essay, students will write a concise paragraph defending a position related to a topic investigated in class. In order to do well, students must reference the sources they read, listened to, viewed and discussed in class. This task asks a question about climate change, but simply change out the question to make this assessment fit with any unit or context!

AP Spanish® students will love this fun, real-world application mini-project! Teachers, this Google Doc project with rubric can be customized, assigned in Google classroom (or other learning platform) for distance learners and printed for in-person students. This project is perfect for Unit 5 as students explore the factors that influence our quality of life! Get students motivated to use their Spanish outside of class while they gain some sage advice from trusted adults!

In this project, students will interview 2 adults that they know. The topic of the interview will be how jobs relate to our quality of life. Students will first work in small groups to brainstorm questions, though in the end, they get to choose what they ask. They will set up interview times, and after the interviews are complete, they will draw their own conclusions about work/life balance, how our daily lives can be affected by the jobs we have, what significance one's job plays in a person's identity and sense of purpose, etc. The student instructions provide clear step-by-step procedures and a detailed rubric about how their final project will be graded.

Best of all, students will have the opportunity to interact with adults in their community and practice important life skills like formally thanking people for their time! When the interviews and article write-ups are complete, a vibrant class discussion can take place as you talk about everyone's findings, take-aways and important learning! This is a great topic for students who are thinking about their future careers and jobs!

This Google Doc contains a link to a Youtube video and a viewing guide perfect for Unit 5: Los factores que influyen en la calidad de vida.  The accompanying activity is digital for distance learners and printable for in-person learners. 

This video discusses how Covid has impacted the world of work globally.  There are many graphics to go along with the narration to aid student comprehension. The video mentions what has changed, and what the newest jobs and skills will be as a result of the pandemic. This is a great 6 minute video for older high school students as they start to think about college majors and future careers.
