Clash Graphic Novel Comprehension Questions

The graphic novel, Clash by Kayla Miller is great for children ages 8 - 14, as they can relate with the characters. My students enjoyed this book because it is a book about friendship, being a kind person even if you don't like someone, being mature, understanding what others are going through, and solving problems with friends and in life. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading. At the end of this product, there are a variety of short answer writing prompts to choose from.
The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and a few example sentences are presented in the packet. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet.

This book series is great for children ages 7 - 13, as they can relate with what Frank and Joe are doing and what mystery they are attempting to solve. The book, The HBs - Trouble at the Arcade - Book 1, discusses problem solving skills, working together as a team, listening to others ideas, and being a good friend/sibling. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and example sentences are presented in the packet. Students can also write sentences using the vocabulary words. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet. Words that students may need help with spelling when answering comprehension questions are provided in this product as well. You will be fully prepared to teach about the Day of the Dead with these three fun, no-prep Spanish reading and vocabulary activities! These Día de los Muertos activities will work for any level of Spanish and will hold your students' attentions throughout the class period. These Día de los Muertos resources are the following:
- Day of the Dead Short-Stories: 4 short stories, each one dealing with an aspect of Día de los muertos (altars, pan de muertos, skulls, and how the Day of the Dead is different from Halloween). These short stories each contain four true/false questions, a reading activity, a writing activity, and a drawing activity.
- Day of the Dead Story: This longer story follows a girl named Marta. Marta has invited Ana to celebrate Day of the Dead with her family. Ana thinks that Day of the Dead is like Halloween and learns throughout the reading about the true meaning of this holiday! This activity contains a worksheet with ten comprehension questions, as well as activities for reading, speaking, and drawing.

Firstly, there are six reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about:
- An Overview of Ancient India
- The Indus Valley Civilization
- Siddhartha Gautama & the Birth of Buddhism
- The Birth of Hinduism
- Ashoka the Great
- The Taj Mahal
These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity, a crossword and a wordsearch for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.
Then, there are two biography writing units about Ashoka the Great and Siddhartha Gautama. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Then, there is an informational writing unit about Ancient India. The unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
Finally, there is an opinion writing unit about who was the most influential figure from the history of India: Ashoka the Great, Siddhartha Gautama or the more recent - Mahatma Gandhi. This unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
