The graphic novel, Clash by Kayla Miller is great for children ages 8 - 14, as they can relate with the characters. My students enjoyed this book because it is a book about friendship, being a kind person even if you don't like someone, being mature, understanding what others are going through, and solving problems with friends and in life. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading. At the end of this product, there are a variety of short answer writing prompts to choose from.
The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and a few example sentences are presented in the packet. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet.

The Herdmans want to be in the Christmas pageant, which causes no one else to want to participate, but it turns out that them starring in the Christmas Pageant wasn't that bad. This is a great holiday book for students, and it also talks about friendship, acceptance, and helping others. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text and each chapter. Students will have the opportunity to answer both short answer and multiple choice throughout each chapter. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and example sentences are presented in the packet. Students can also write sentences using the vocabulary words. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet. Words that students may need help with spelling when answering comprehension questions are provided in this product as well. Each chapters questions are divided up throughout this product. An answer key is included at the end of this product along with comprehension questions that allow students to reflect on the whole book, who their favorite character was, what the plot of the story was, etc.

Besties Work it Out Graphic Novel Comprehension Questions

The graphic novel, Besties Work it Out by: Kayla Miller and Jeffrey Canino is great for children ages 8 - 13, as they can relate with the characters. My students enjoyed this book because it is a book about friendship, learning about being responsible, mature, the value of earning money, and solving problems with friends and in life. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading. At the end of the product, there are a variety of short answer writing prompts to choose from.
The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and a few example sentences are presented in the packet. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet.

The book, Best Friends by Shannon Hale and Leuyen Pham is great for children ages 7 - 13 years old, as they can relate with Shannon, the friends she makes along the way, the friendships she struggles to maintain, the lack of self confidence she has and she becomes more confident along the way, learning that it is okay not to be friends with everyone, the importance of friendship and not following the crowd or what your friends want you to do, doing things that you want to do - being a leader instead of a follower, and how to handle stressful situations, anxiety, conflict, and bullying. Students will follow Shannon along as she figures out where to fit in while in 6th grade and gets ready for junior high school. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and example sentences are presented in the packet. Students can also write vocabulary words in sentences. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet. An answer key is provided at the end of this product. Students can also answer comprehension questions towards the end of the packet as well that summarize the entire book.
