This creative Winter Concert Decorations: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to get with a partner or into small groups and brainstorm subject matter, orientation, and theme of the overall composition. Plus, decide which group member(s) will be in charge of what to draw and where to draw it. Students will need to sketch out ideas first inside a sketchbook, transfer the sketches to Final Copy Paper, outline the large image, and start coloring in everything with crayon. Sadly, most other art materials will ruin the roll paper. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy!

Drawing Art: Mandala Design. Fall/Autumn.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Mandala Design artwork was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I did a demo and taught the class how to use a ruler and a yardstick. Measurements and Math was a strong focus of the lesson. Next, students spent the rest of the first lesson brainstorming an idea for a stencil (¼ of their full Mandala Design. I taught the students how to rotate their stencil to get a Radial Design. Students started on their Final Copy paper and outlined their drawing in sharpie marker. We used large windows to trace our stencils on the final. Students used colored pencils, colored sharpies, or watercolor paint to color their Mandala Design. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Students are also able to add onto the list of coping strategies provided. A coping skill bookmark template is included for students to draw/write down coping skills on a bookmark that they can look at in times of feeling stressed/upset. Building trust activity ideas are provided in this product for students to build trust with others they know well, tips for students to interact with school counselors, social workers, and school psychologists are also included in this product. Students will learn who to trust and how they can trust them. Students are also provided with the opportunity to draw who they trust or write down their names as well.

This packet includes 10 month, daily layout per month of adapted math curriculum plans for students in 5th grade. Essential questions are provided for each month. This product is useful, organized, and focuses on what should be taught monthly for students that need material broken down or taught at the adapted level to ensure their individual learning needs are met. This product can be edited according to what is covered on a week to week basis.
What is covered in this product:
Sept - Place value, compare numbers, order numbers, place value through the billions, and decimals
Oct - Addition properties, estimate sums and differences, add and subtract equations
Nov - Multiplication properties, distributive property, multiplication up to two digit numbers
Dec - Estimate quotients, 1-digit divisors, zeros in the quotient, two digit divisors
Jan - Measurement, units of length, units of weight and capacity, units of length, units of mass and capacity
Feb - Graphing - bar graphs, histograms, and line and double bar graphs
March - Adding and subtracting, fractions, mixed numbers with denominators,
April -Multiply with fractions, mixed numbers, divide fractions, divide mixed numbers
May - Points, lines, rays, triangles, quadrilaterals, symmetry, parallelograms, and volume
June - Percentages, probability, and variables, and patterns.
Margins in this Microsoft Word document are set at 0.5 for the top, bottom, left, and right.

Painting Art: Stained-Glass Tree. Fall/Autumn.

This creative Stained-Glass Tree Painting Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing different trees. Next, I taught students how to draw a tree that has branches extending to the edge of the paper. I demonstrated how to outline and fill in the tree. Students created their own stained-glass tree artwork on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined and colored their artwork. Students used mostly watercolor paints for their artwork. This product focuses on the following areas: drug safety, drugs, medicine, prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, what drugs are and what drugs can change, what your body lets you do internally and externally, when it is not using drugs, using drugs safely, the difference between antibiotics and vaccines, 7 rules for taking medicine/prescriptions, understanding product labels, understanding prescription drug labels, learning about tamper resistant seals, expiration dates, side effects, and taking medications with liquids or food, preventing drug abuse and vocabulary that includes drug misuse, illegal drugs, drug abuse, and addiction, 4 steps to depending on drugs, making responsible decisions, and using resistance skills are included in this product. Throughout the product, comprehension questions are asked to review what was covered on previous pages.
Social stories are included in this product that include going to the doctor and being prescribed prescription drugs for illnesses, harming your body and what could happen when you harm your body, poisons for the body when consumed. After each social story, comprehension questions are asked about what was read and how students would handle the situation if they were in that position,

This creative Winter Concert Decorations: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this PDF file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to get with a partner or into small groups and brainstorm subject matter, orientation, and theme of the overall composition. Plus, decide which group member(s) will be in charge of what to draw and where to draw it. Students will need to sketch out ideas first inside a sketchbook, transfer the sketches to Final Copy Paper, outline the large image, and start coloring in everything with crayon. Sadly, most other art materials will ruin the roll paper. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy!

In this product, students will learn about World War 1, common names used for this war, how this war was started, when it started, who was involved in it - Allies, Central Powers, who remained neutral during the war, and when America joined in on the war, which side they were on, and why they joined the war, why Americans didn't want to get involved in World War 1 in the beginning, the ocean liner - Lusitania and how that influenced America to join the war, Woodrow Wilson and his part in the war, what Allies means, trenches that were built in the battlefield and why, how long soldiers stayed in them and why, who surrendered at the end of World War 1, when the war ended, how many soldiers died during the war, the treaty that signed at the end of the war and who signed it, how countries changed after the war, the jobs that women had after World War 1, when women could vote - the 19th Amendment, the order in which the first 15 states gave women the right to vote, the 3 states that ratified the 19th Amendment, African Americans after World War 1 and how this was the beginning of the civil rights movement, where African Americans moved after World War 1, the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendment and how they were important in the United States.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. Throughout the product, after each page of notes is reviewed, students will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions and short answer questions.

Drawing Art: Ghostly Self Portraits. Fall/Autumn.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Ghostly Self Portraits Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. It is best to use grey newsprint paper if you have it, but if you do not you could use white drawing paper (if you give the white paper a grey-ish look ahead of time). I used pencil to sketch everything out in student sketchbooks and on final copy newsprint paper. I used black crayon OR black oil pastel (depending on grade level) to first outline the major features of the pencil drawing. The older students used oil pastels. After outlining, white crayon OR white oil pastels were used for the self-portrait eyes, and a few other areas. Pattern was a focus throughout the composition whether it showed up on the person or in the background. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.
