This creative It’s just a Circle! Or is it? : Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen.

For this assignment, I asked students to make an awesome artwork out of a simple “circle”. Students start with a brainstorming circle paper. After brainstorming different circle designs, students choose their favorite for a Final Copy Paper. Art materials could be colored pencils, crayons, watercolor paint, and/or color sharpies. *CONTRAST, PATTERN, REPETITION, MOVEMENT, ETC. This is a 2-3-day assignment.

This product focuses on the following areas: drug safety, drugs, medicine, prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, what drugs are and what drugs can change, what your body lets you do internally and externally, when it is not using drugs, using drugs safely, the difference between antibiotics and vaccines, 7 rules for taking medicine/prescriptions, understanding product labels, understanding prescription drug labels, learning about tamper resistant seals, expiration dates, side effects, and taking medications with liquids or food, preventing drug abuse and vocabulary that includes drug misuse, illegal drugs, drug abuse, and addiction, 4 steps to depending on drugs, making responsible decisions, and using resistance skills are included in this product. Throughout the product, comprehension questions are asked to review what was covered on previous pages.

Social stories are included in this product that include going to the doctor and being prescribed prescription drugs for illnesses, harming your body and what could happen when you harm your body, poisons for the body when consumed. After each social story, comprehension questions are asked about what was read and how students would handle the situation if they were in that position,

This creative Picasso Self Portraits Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this PDF file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to sketch themselves in a Picasso-inspired style-abstract. Students exaggerated their facial features and placed them in different areas on their face. Students were asked to outline their artwork with a black sharpie marker. Students used watercolor paint to add vibrant, bold colors to their beautiful artwork. Contrast was a focus. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Warm & Cool Hand Paintings Design was created to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I used large 18 x 24-inch paper. Students traced their arm/hands, traced large lids, and used rulers and yardsticks to create a unique design. Students were asked to use either warm colors in their arm/hand, and cool colors in the background, OR vice versa. Students used watercolor paints to color their entire artwork. The graphic novel, Act by Kayla Miller is great for children ages 8 - 14, as they can relate with the characters. My students enjoyed this book because it is a book about friendship, being mature, supporting your friends, being a good sport, leader, etc., and solving problems with friends and in life. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading. At the end of this product, there are a variety of short answer writing prompts to choose from.

The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and a few example sentences are presented in the packet. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet.

In this product about physical fitness, students will learn about the different sports and activities that they can participate in, students will learn about the benefits of physical activity, blood pressure - things that can increase blood pressure and what blood pressure is, health fitness reviews - heart, lungs, muscles, and joints and how to maintain each of these is reviewed, cardiorespiratory endurance and the meaning is reviewed, what the heart rate is and students will also learn how to determine their heart rate, students will learn how they can improve cardiorespiratory endurance at home or in school, students will also learn what muscular endurance is, how to improve it, and the benefits of improving muscular endurance, what is flexibility and examples of how to be flexible, what is body composition, fat tissue, and lean tissue and how they are important in the body, students will learn about muscular strength and what they can do to improve muscular strength. Students will also learn about the 6 major fitness skills are, their meanings, and examples - agility, balance, coordination, reaction time, speed, and power, what the President's challenge is and what events are included in this event are all covered. Different kinds of workouts are discussed and reviewed along with examples - low-intensity physical activities, moderate-intensity physical activities, and vigorous-intensity physical activities and how they differ from each other, aerobic activities and examples, the process of a workout is reviewed - the warm up, target heart rate, specific exercises, training, overload, progression, and frequency, and what each of these terms mean. Students will also learn what FIIT means - Frequency, intensity, time, and type of exercise, and the importance of setting health goals - students will have time to do this in this product.

Throughout the product, students will answer comprehension questions that relate with the material that is carried out on each slide. Students can complete this as a group, independently, with a partner.

For this assignment, I asked students to make a Cool Sunshades Self Portrait, celebrating the joy of themselves. Students create a self-portrait of themselves, but they don’t need to worry about drawing their eyes-we will have cool sunshades covering them. The sunshades will have designs and details that also help describe themselves to others. Materials will be mainly colored pencils and crayons. This is a 4–5-day assignment.

Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to use their pointer finger (no paint brush) to create the flower pedals. Students filled the paper with fingerprint flowers for one class period. This creative Monumental Symmetrical Insects Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Next, I taught students how to draw insects symmetrically on scrap paper. I demonstrated how to draw a beetle symmetrically while students surrounding me. For this assignment, I asked students to make an awesome artwork out of a simple “circle”. Students start with a brainstorming circle paper. After brainstorming different circle designs, students choose their favorite for a Final Copy Paper. Art materials could be colored pencils, crayons, watercolor paint, and/or color sharpies. *CONTRAST, PATTERN, REPETITION, MOVEMENT, ETC. This is a 2-3-day assignment.

This product on the traits of living things includes the following: hereditary, acquired traits and how they differ from each other, DNA - what it stands for, what it is, reproduction, molecules, chromosomes, how many chromosomes are in different species, including people, chromatids and where they are located in a cell, genes, nucleotides, parts of nucleotides, four nitrogen bases, sides of the ladder on a strand of DNA, mutagens - physical, chemical, and biological mutagens and how they differ from each other, mutagens and examples of those and their description, mutations, traits of living things - students will collect data and will be required to create a pie chart or a bar graph based on the data they collected, students will also answer comprehension questions based on the data that they collected, students will also learn about environmental, learned, and manipulated traits. can also be used as adapted notes for students who need more support.

This product also requires students to answer comprehension questions using short answer, fill in the blanks, and multiple choice questions on what was reviewed in the notes. Students will also have the opportunity to complete a pie chart and bar graph in this product.

In this product, Reading Street - So You Want to Be President? is read and reviewed. In this product, students will read the text, So You Want to Be President. Students will review/learn facts about different Presidents throughout history, what Presidents enjoy/dislike about their job, why someone wants to become President of the United States, etc. Students will answer comprehension questions using this product. They can complete these questions individually, in a small group, or with support.
