6.My Grief Suitcase: Students examine their personal grief experiences and resilience, symbolically represented in a "Grief Suitcase." This reflective session promotes self-awareness and understanding of individual coping mechanisms.

This creative It’s just a Circle! Or is it? : Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen.

For this assignment, I asked students to make an awesome artwork out of a simple “circle”. Students start with a brainstorming circle paper. After brainstorming different circle designs, students choose their favorite for a Final Copy Paper. Art materials could be colored pencils, crayons, watercolor paint, and/or color sharpies. *CONTRAST, PATTERN, REPETITION, MOVEMENT, ETC. This is a 2-3-day assignment.

A complete and differentiated phonics and grammar curriculum geared toward 1st-3rd grade!

Here's a breakdown of the curriculum:

Phonics:

• Weeks 1-33: Spelling Based on Phonics Sounds

  • Each week focuses on a specific phonics sound. The scope and sequence of the phonics sounds being taught are sequential and build on prior knowledge. Students engage in spelling activities related to the chosen sound.

• Four Weekly Phonics Work

  • Students have four different phonics exercises each week. These exercises are designed to reinforce the targeted phonics sound.

• Three Differentiated Spelling Groups

  • Groups are categorized as Sun (below grade level), Clouds (at grade level), and Moons (above grade level). Each group corresponds to a different level of difficulty. This allows for tailored instruction to meet individual student needs.

Grammar:

• Weeks 1-33: Grammar Based on Common Core Standards

  • Each week focuses on a specific grammar concept aligned with Common Core standards for 1st to 3rd grade.

• Four Daily Edits

  • Students work on four different daily editing exercises. These exercises are tied to the weekly grammar focus.

• Spiraling of Previously Taught Grammar Standards

  • Regular review and reinforcement of previously taught grammar concepts. This ensures a cumulative understanding of grammar throughout the school year.

Overall Structure:

• This curriculum spans a full school year, providing a systematic approach to phonics and grammar instruction.
• Differentiation is a key element, with three levels of spelling groups and tailored grammar activities. This helps address the diverse needs of students.
• The curriculum aligns with Common Core standards, ensuring that students are exposed to and master grade-appropriate language skills.

Suggestions for Implementation:

1. Regular Assessments: Include regular assessments to gauge student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Spelling lists are included and it is suggested a weekly spelling assessment given to gauge understanding of the phonics skill.
2. Parental Involvement: Communicate the curriculum objectives to parents and encourage their involvement in supporting their child's learning at home.

By incorporating these elements, your phonics and grammar curriculum can provide a robust and engaging learning experience for 1st to 3rd-grade students.

This product focuses on the following areas: drug safety, drugs, medicine, prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, what drugs are and what drugs can change, what your body lets you do internally and externally, when it is not using drugs, using drugs safely, the difference between antibiotics and vaccines, 7 rules for taking medicine/prescriptions, understanding product labels, understanding prescription drug labels, learning about tamper resistant seals, expiration dates, side effects, and taking medications with liquids or food, preventing drug abuse and vocabulary that includes drug misuse, illegal drugs, drug abuse, and addiction, 4 steps to depending on drugs, making responsible decisions, and using resistance skills are included in this product. Throughout the product, comprehension questions are asked to review what was covered on previous pages.

Social stories are included in this product that include going to the doctor and being prescribed prescription drugs for illnesses, harming your body and what could happen when you harm your body, poisons for the body when consumed. After each social story, comprehension questions are asked about what was read and how students would handle the situation if they were in that position,

6.Session 6: Choices and Consequences Participants explore the connection between choices and consequences, discovering that every action has an outcome. They gain insight into how making thoughtful choices can lead to positive results.

7.Session 7: Dealing with Conflicts In this interactive session, students learn constructive ways to resolve conflicts and disagreements. They practice communication skills that promote peaceful resolutions.

8.Session 8: Small, Medium and Big Problems differentiate between different levels of problems and explore appropriate ways to respond to each type. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative 2-Point Perspective City artwork was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I did a demo and taught the class how to use a ruler and a yardstick. Measurements and Math were a strong focus of the lesson. Next, students spent the rest of the first lesson practicing the use of a ruler and a yardstick. I taught the students how to do 2-point perspective with step-by-step slides. Students started on their Final Copy paper and created their own version of my example. Students used colored pencils, colored sharpies, or watercolor paint to color their Mandala Design. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

A complete and differentiated phonics and grammar curriculum geared toward 1st-3rd grade!

Here's a breakdown of the curriculum:

Phonics:

• Weeks 1-33: Spelling Based on Phonics Sounds

  • Each week focuses on a specific phonics sound. The scope and sequence of the phonics sounds being taught are sequential and build on prior knowledge. Students engage in spelling activities related to the chosen sound.

• Four Weekly Phonics Work

  • Students have four different phonics exercises each week. These exercises are designed to reinforce the targeted phonics sound.

• Three Differentiated Spelling Groups

  • Groups are categorized as Sun (below grade level), Clouds (at grade level), and Moons (above grade level). Each group corresponds to a different level of difficulty. This allows for tailored instruction to meet individual student needs.

Grammar:

• Weeks 1-33: Grammar Based on Common Core Standards

  • Each week focuses on a specific grammar concept aligned with Common Core standards for 1st to 3rd grade.

• Four Daily Edits

  • Students work on four different daily editing exercises. These exercises are tied to the weekly grammar focus.

• Spiraling of Previously Taught Grammar Standards

  • Regular review and reinforcement of previously taught grammar concepts. This ensures a cumulative understanding of grammar throughout the school year.

Overall Structure:

• This curriculum spans a full school year, providing a systematic approach to phonics and grammar instruction.
• Differentiation is a key element, with three levels of spelling groups and tailored grammar activities. This helps address the diverse needs of students.
• The curriculum aligns with Common Core standards, ensuring that students are exposed to and master grade-appropriate language skills.

Suggestions for Implementation:

1. Regular Assessments: Include regular assessments to gauge student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Spelling lists are included and it is suggested a weekly spelling assessment given to gauge understanding of the phonics skill.
2. Parental Involvement: Communicate the curriculum objectives to parents and encourage their involvement in supporting their child's learning at home.

By incorporating these elements, your phonics and grammar curriculum can provide a robust and engaging learning experience for 1st to 3rd-grade students.

This product was made for students to learn the following: Vocabulary words - congress, delegates, Constitution, compromise, federal system, Bill of Rights, amendments, two houses of Congress - Senate and House of Representatives, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch, and review of the 13 colonies - New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies

In this product, students will learn about what happened after America gained its independence from Great Britain, the rules that were developed after the American Revolution - Articles of Confederation, the struggles that Congress had within their own government and what they couldn't solve, how states disagreed and what they disagreed about, John Adams went to Great Britain to set up trade agreements and how it was hard for Great Britain to take America seriously, The Constitutional Convention and where it was held, the Annapolis Convention, delegates - who they were and what they did, and how long they worked to create the United States Constitution, the delegates disagreed with one another, but they did disagree on what should be included in the Constitution, why they disagreed with one another, and how they came to a compromise, Congress - where it is located, who meets in the United States Capitol building - the two houses - the Senate and the House of Representatives - how they were different based on members, length of terms, age for members, organization, and how many per state, the federal government and what they do and what the state government and what they do, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch - what they do, how they are different, how they work together, and how they each have specific jobs, the system of Checks and Balances that is followed within the government and why, The Bill of Rights that include the first 10 amendments to the Constitution of the United States, brief review of the American Revolution, what George Washington did when he served the United States as President of the United States, and where the first, second, and third capital of the United States was located and why it moved.

The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, they will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, students will read charts, The Bill of Rights, and the 3 Branches of Government chart, and answer questions based on each of these provided. At the end of the product, students are provided with a review that includes multiple choice questions, short answer questions, and will choose 1 of the 10 Amendments in The Bill of Rights and write about why they think it is important.
