There are literally hundreds of prophecies Jesus fulfilled. The Jesse tree does not limit them or tell everything there is to know about our wonderful Savior. With this in mind, you will find The Jesse Tree has been designed in many different ways and created with varying Bible stories and images and this is ok. I hope you enjoy the one I put together through much prayer and Bible study. I was truly inspiring to see Jesus in all the stories!

This lesson is easy enough for 5th graders to understand yet works well with students up to grade 12. Modifications can be made as needed.

This Africa book study unit is written based on the story of the Lost Boys in the book: A Long Walk to Water. This is a great way to study Sudan and its struggles throughout the years. It teaches how the goodwill of one person can have a domino effect and change the lives of many while exploring the geographical aspects, environmental issues, political issues, causes of the Sudan wars, resources, and cultures of Sudan. Team up with the language arts teacher and blend geography and language arts.

OBJECTIVES

• The learner will become familiar with the main characters and their plight.
• The learner will describe how unclean water impacts the Sudanese.
• The learner will explore the cause and effects of the Second Sudanese War and its outcomes.
• The learner will understand the impact the Second Sudanese War had on the families living in Sudan
• The learner will analyze the culture and living conditions of Sudanese culture.
• The learner will sympathize or empathize and attempt to relate to the feelings of Salva and other characters.
• The learner will predict the outcomes of the Lost Boys' experiences and the war.
• The learner will value the privilege of having water and resources.
• The learner will collaborate with others to gain an in-depth understanding of who the Lost Boys are and the challenges they face.
• The learner will discover how the goodwill of one person can change the projection of someone’s life.

Indeed, some scholars have suggested that the insults in Shakespeare's plays amount to their own education in wit. If your students are sufficiently mature, you could use this exercise to invite them to generate their own original Shakespearean insults. (2 pages)

This creative Watercolor Boat Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to brainstorm a boat/vessel that they wanted to have in the water, and water kind of body of water they wanted in their artwork. We discussed Winslow Homer, and his style of art. Students sketched their drawing and painted the larger areas first. Students painted the boat, smaller details and reflections last. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

In this product, students will learn to ask for help for self and others, students will use their imagination and visualization to release bad feelings, recognize when a situation needs help, students will identify the adults in school to ask for help from, identify the adults out of school to ask for help from, understand what trusting a person means, students will learn how we are all connected, learn what it means to work as a team, learn about different forms of communication, and practice different forms of communication.

Students will talk about stuck feelings and how they get stuck, because you don't know that they are there, or you don't know how to let them go, a story about stuck feelings will be presented to students, and they will be required to answer questions about how they would best solve the problem if they were in the characters shoes, students will talk about pulling out their feelings, sending them away, and letting them go, students will focus on one uncomfortable feeling and will discuss where they can send it to let it go, so it doesn't return, students will talk about what they can do when they feel an unpleasant feeling, they will work on a feelings survival kit that will help them handle a situation in the future where they feel unpleasant feelings, students will discuss the definition of trust and who they can trust to help them when they are feeling unpleasant feelings, they will complete activities such as a buddy walk, trust fall, and trust drawing to help build trust, and students will complete a human knot and will work together with their peers to get out of the knot. Upon completing the human knot, students will complete the journal questions that are included in this product. Students will talk about the importance of communication and how we effectively communicate with others both verbally and nonverbally. Students will play the games telephone, charades, and hello with partners/groups and will reflect on their communication skills in the journal included in this product.

This handout offers several suggestions about how, as it were, to "make the evidence speak." It also offers strategies for how to organize evidence into a series of body paragraphs that build upon one another in a logical and compelling manner. (2 pages)

• Topic Sentences / Transitional Sentences (Handout #4): This handout offers advice about how students can use transitional expressions to clarify the logical connections between the claims in each of their topic sentences. It includes a list of different types of transitional expressions along with several examples. (2 pages)

• Precepts for Effective Prose (Handout #5): This handout features about a dozen precepts or "rules of thumb" that students should follow when writing academic papers. The handout contains brief paragraphs on each of the following topics: Avoid plot summary; Always use the present tense; Minimize intensifiers; Alternatives to writing "It says"!! (2 pages)

• Sample Introductory Paragraphs: Look at six introductory paragraphs from articles published by literary scholars in academic journals over the last decade. Invite students to reflect on what they find to be particularly effective — or ineffective —about each introductory paragraph. How does each writer hook the reader's interest? How do they construct an interpretive problem? How do they generate a complex thesis statement? (6 pages)

This creative Winter Concert Decorations: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to get with a partner or into small groups and brainstorm subject matter, orientation, and theme of the overall composition. Plus, decide which group member(s) will be in charge of what to draw and where to draw it. Students will need to sketch out ideas first inside a sketchbook, transfer the sketches to Final Copy Paper, outline the large image, and start coloring in everything with crayon.
