Printable Jesse Tree Devotions Ornaments Tree Craft Coloring Advent Activity

By Kaylor Creations

Create and display the TRUE meaning of Christmas**! Daily Devotions, Prayers, Scripture Readings, Ornaments & Advent Tree** are ALL included in this Jesse Tree resource to give you all you need to engage learners every day of this advent season!

This advent activity is called “The Jesse Tree” because of the Bible verse in Isaiah that describes a shoot, which is like a bud or new leaf, coming up from a tree stump of Jesse. Jesse’s family will grow and grow through the years; eventually, Jesus will be born! So this is sort of like Jesus’ family tree!

You will get:

  • Daily Devotions: 1 introduction and 25 daily devotions that will guide you and your children/students in a daily Scripture reading, devotion, and prayer. Read aloud to a younger class or have older learners read themselves.

  • Ornaments: 25 Ready to print and cut-out ornaments, provided in color and black and white.

  • Printable Jesse Tree - 3 printable Jesse Tree options given. Two color options- one with placement guides and one blank, one black and white.

  • Mini Jesse Tree Coloring Book - 25 half-page coloring pages with the Jesse Tree symbol/image and the correlating Bible verse.

This is the PERFECT Christmas Advent activity:

The Jesse Tree recounts many of the Old and New Testament stories that led up to Christ's birth. Through these stories, we will see how God had a plan to send His son the whole time!! Included in this printable Jesse Tree activity are:

  • Introduction & The Bible
  • The Creation
  • The Fall (Adam and Eve)
  • The Rainbow (Noah)
  • Abram's Tent
  • The Ram (Abraham/Isaac)
  • Jacob's Dream
  • Joseph's Coat
  • The Passover
  • The Law (Ten Commandments)
  • Rahab's Rope
  • Ruth's Grain
  • Young David
  • King David
  • Isaiah's Message
  • Daniel's Angel
  • Jonah's Fish
  • Bethlehem
  • Zechariah
  • John
  • Mary
  • Joseph
  • Elizabeth
  • The Trinity
  • Jesus is Born

Each day you will learn about one of these stories by Scripture reading, devotion and prayer.

Then, cut and paste the provided correlating Christmas ornament on the Jesse tree!

There is also the option to have the younger one's color a page in the mini coloring book provided for each day of advent.

Thank you and HAPPY TEACHING!

---------------------------------------

** NOTE**

There are literally hundreds of prophecies Jesus fulfilled. The Jesse tree does not limit them or tell everything there is to know about our wonderful Savior. With this in mind, you will find The Jesse Tree has been designed in many different ways and created with varying Bible stories and images and this is ok. I hope you enjoy the one I put together through much prayer and Bible study. I was truly inspiring to see Jesus in all the stories!

Graphic Scores Unit

By MsNerdWood

Looking for a way to have some fun while learning music? Look no further. This Graphic Scores Unit will have your students exploring how to represent sound using graphics and composing in no time! There are 3 main lessons included in this unit, however, the last lesson will likely take 6-8 lessons to put together and perform. This unit is one I have used with my own students so I know how much fun they have with it! The great thing with graphic scores is you don't really need any instruments to compose which makes this unit even better if you're teaching music on a cart or have limited resources available.

Overview:

This graphic score short unit exposes students to what a graphic score is. They get to represent sound using graphics and compose their own graphic score using found sounds. Students will learn how sound and music can be represented using graphics. They will practice representing a short piece of music through graphics. After, they will represent common soundscapes using their own graphics and will then create their own graphic score to perform. I created this in Google Docs/Slides so that you can customize this unit to your own unique needs.

Learning Goals:

  • We are learning how to represent sounds and music using non-traditional notation.
  • We are learning to compose a piece of music using found sounds and represent our sound using graphics.

Success Criteria:

  • I can represent sound using graphics.
  • I can compose a piece of music with a group and perform it using my score.

What’s Included:

  • Lesson Plans and Ideas
  • Google Slides Lesson on Graphic Scores (including original composition to practice creating graphic scores)
  • Graphic organizer for students with fill in the blanks about graphic scores
  • Graphic organizer for students to represent original composition as a graphic score
  • Graphic organizer for students to represent soundscapes using graphics
  • Graphic score for students to create their own graphic scores
  • Rubrics to mark graphic score assignments
  • 3 Stars and a Wish for peer feedback

Drawing Art: 2-Point Perspective City-Full Unit. Fall/Autumn.

By Art Shack by JB

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative 2-Point Perspective City artwork was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I did a demo and taught the class how to use a ruler and a yardstick. Measurements and Math were a strong focus of the lesson. Next, students spent the rest of the first lesson practicing the use of a ruler and a yardstick. I taught the students how to do 2-point perspective with step-by-step slides. Students started on their Final Copy paper and created their own version of my example. Students used colored pencils, colored sharpies, or watercolor paint to color their Mandala Design. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.
