Start school on a positive note as you build classroom community and make your students feel at ease in the classroom. At the beginning of each class or at the start of the day, pull out a quote at random and read it to the class. Leave “I Liked the Quote” slips next to your Inspiration Jar (the container you house the quotes in). When a student feels moved by a quote, they can write down the quote to keep for when they need a little inspiration.

This product includes 2 social stories that focus on feeling guilty. One story talks about feeling guilty for doing something wrong and another talks about feeling guilted into doing something that someone doesn't want to do.
In this product, students will also learn the following: the meaning of feeling guilty, the meaning of guilt-tripped into doing something, how you may feel when you feel guilty, the signs of feeling guilty, and what you should do when you feel guilty.
The social stories include comprehension questions that relate with each feeling guilty social story. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters when they feel guilty or when they are guilted into doing something.

Anxiety scenarios are included in this product that require students to share how they would feel if the situation was happening to them explain what may happen to their body using the chart that is included in this product. A journal on how to manage anxiety is also included with this product that includes 9 different prompts that allow students to draw or write about a situation where they became anxious and how they handled that situation.

Students will be presented with a real-life situation about how one woman defined herself and found happiness, they will discuss this individuals feels, how positive traits inspired her, and how she built up her self esteem. Students will discuss positive and neutral character traits, they will identify unique character traits about themselves and discuss them further and how these positive traits promote their overall well being.
This product can be used for 4th - 8th grade, but can be used for younger or older students depending on maturity and academic level.

This product includes 2 social stories that focus on establishing boundaries. Each short story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of characters who are experiencing a problem. When students are reading each story, they will review the importance of establishing boundaries that they can use throughout their day to day routine. The vocabulary word establishing boundaries is reviewed and discussed, 10 important boundaries are reviewed, and the importance of setting up boundaries. This product includes 1 social story that focuses on spreading rumors. Vocabulary that is reviewed and discussed in depth include - spreading rumors, positive self-esteem, negative self-esteem, gossiping, reputation, and the expression - fight fire with fire.
Students will also learn about the following - how spreading rumors can impact self-esteem, how you will feel when you have positive self-esteem, how you will feel when you have negative self-esteem, how to build self-esteem, how one would feel if a rumor was spread about them or how one would feel if they spread a rumor and the person that spread a rumor found out, the negative impacts of spreading rumors, what to do if someone spreads a rumor about you, and 1 social story that focuses on a student spreading a rumor about another student supposedly cheating off his test.
The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This product encourages students to understand the negative impacts spreading rumors may have, how someone would feel if a rumor was spread about them, and a mature way to how to handle a situation when a rumor is spread.

These situations can unleash strong emotions and cause resentment, which is why it is important to respectfully raise these issues with the people involved and have these courageous conversations. Raising issues and setting boundaries in a respectful, non-confrontational manner can increase awareness of the situation, resolve conflicts, and prevent damaging relationships.
This resources features 6 highly relevant scenarios where students practice raising the uncomfortable issues presented to the person/people involved in a respectful, non-confrontational manner.
This resource features a total of 6 real-life, highly relevant scenarios that come in the following two variations (BOTH Print and Digital):
Variation #1 - Guidance Question/Statement- style - A worksheet that includes one scenario and four guidance questions in the form of statements to help them practice having productive, informative, and respectful courageous conversations in a non-confrontational manner. Students use these four (guidance) steps:
- (Facts) Explaining the issue to the person/people involved by focusing on the facts.
- (Feelings) Telling the person/people involved how the behavior makes them feel.
- (Expectations) Expressing reasonable change(s) you expect from the person/people involved.
- (Consequences/Boundary Setting) Communicating the consequences if the person/people involved do not change.

In this product, students will learn to ask for help for self and others, students will use their imagination and visualization to release bad feelings, recognize when a situation needs help, students will identify the adults in school to ask for help from, identify the adults out of school to ask for help from, understand what trusting a person means, students will learn how we are all connected, learn what it means to work as a team, learn about different forms of communication, and practice different forms of communication.
Students will talk about stuck feelings and how they get stuck, because you don't know that they are there, or you don't know how to let them go, a story about stuck feelings will be presented to students, and they will be required to answer questions about how they would best solve the problem if they were in the characters shoes, students will talk about pulling out their feelings, sending them away, and letting them go, students will focus on one uncomfortable feeling and will discuss where they can send it to let it go, so it doesn't return, students will talk about what they can do when they feel an unpleasant feeling, they will work on a feelings survival kit that will help them handle a situation in the future where they feel unpleasant feelings, students will discuss the definition of trust and who they can trust to help them when they are feeling unpleasant feelings, they will complete activities such as a buddy walk, trust fall, and trust drawing to help build trust, and students will complete a human knot and will work together with their peers to get out of the knot. Upon completing the human knot, students will complete the journal questions that are included in this product. Students will talk about the importance of communication and how we effectively communicate with others both verbally and nonverbally. Students will play the games telephone, charades, and hello with partners/groups and will reflect on their communication skills in the journal included in this product.
This product can be used for 4th - 8th grade, but can be used for younger or older students depending on maturity and academic level.

This 45-page document has activities, games, printables, graphic organizers and step-by-step activities to lead engaging discussions with your "big" kids about anxiety, stress and identity.
As with all of my documents, I don't use babyish colors, images or fonts. I create documents for middle-schoolers in mind so this would match the maturity level of grades 5 through 8 - depending on the emotional needs of your students. They're not cutesy or require colored printing,

These Task Cards and Worksheets highlight real-life social scenarios and situations to help students of all levels and abilities to practice and build social skills. These highly relevant scenarios expose students to skills they need to interact with others effectively, forge positive relationships, negotiate conflicts, brainstorm coping skills, evaluate best solutions, improve social skills and behavior, and most importantly, build confidence in managing their emotions.

The Social Scenarios Task Cards can be used in guided small groups, whole-class discussions, partner discussion before sharing out with the larger group or class, or even one-on-one with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian!
You can print the Task Cards out on gloss paper or regular paper and laminate. You may also organize it in a binder ring.
How/When To Use Scenario Task Cards
- Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
- Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
- Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
- Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
- Discussion: Students can discuss the Social Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other options you could consider?”
