It starts out by showing the theories of how the world thinks everything was formed and then shows the Biblically based Creation using statements and pictures. Get your students out of their seats to ask and answer questions using the present tense focusing on the stem-changing and irregular yo forms. This is a great community building or social emotional activity for your Spanish classroom. The questions center around a school theme which would be a good activity for chapter 1A of Realidades/Auténtico or it could be a good review of stem-changing verbs in a conversational format.

1. Set a timer for the activity depending on how long you would like them to practice.
2. Give one card to each student asking and answering the questions on their cards.
3. After each student of the pair asks and answers the questions, the students switch cards and give each other a high five. The high five adds community-building to this activity.
4. With his/her new card, s/he raises his/her hand to find a new partner to repeat the process.
5. Teacher should circulate while the students are talking to encourage them to speak only Spanish.
6. After the time is up, collect the cards and then discuss the questions/answers and any difficulties they had while answering the questions.

This could also be used as a Gallery Walk. Hang the questions around the room or hallway and give the students the included handout with the numbers. They write down the answer to the corresponding question. For example, if the student is at question #5, she/he finds #5 on her/his sheet and writes the answer to the question.

Do your students struggle to grasp the difference between masculine and feminine irregular nouns? This noun-sorting activity will give them hands-on practice with this often tricky topic! In this activity, your students will sort the given list of 36 Spanish irregular nouns into two categories: masculine or feminine. You could easily adapt this activity for other nouns or adjectives, simply by providing your own list. In addition to the hands-on practice, this resource also includes two worksheet versions with the same nouns.

This resource contains:

• one noun sorting sheet
• one page of thirty-six Spanish nouns with dotted lines for cutting
• one worksheet where students choose between masculine and feminine and translate the nouns to English
• one worksheet where students choose between masculine and feminine and write an original sentence in Spanish using the indicated noun

It's the end of a unit or the day before vacation.... what would be FUN and motivating to students?  Learning slang!  This Youtube video and accompanying Google Doc and Edpuzzle  viewing guides will help students sound more natural with their speech.  This video teaches slang from PUERTO RICO, but check out my other products for slang from other countries!

Students can view the video and write down answers in open-ended form, or they can watch the video in an EdPuzzle and answer the multiple choice questions.  (Auto-graded, by the way!)  The questions in this activity are written in Spanish, but the language level is basic and should be accessible to students from Novice High and up.  The video itself presents Spanish slang terms with explanations in English.

**Disclaimer: There is one expression in the video that is not so nice... "Come mierda" which they present to mean that someone is a snob. **I cut it out of the Edpuzzle, but I cannot edit the YouTube video.****
