This product provides a generic guide I came up with using AVID strategies as well as a reading my students did this year during their Science and Technology Unit. Using the AVID strategies to practice Close Reading in my AP Spanish Language and Culture course. I have provided this resource with a free example.

Teach your students about conflict management through this engaging Passive, Assertive, or Aggressive AVID improv game. This would be perfect to pair with your passive, assertive, or aggressive lesson OR used as a fun team building game. This is also a great way for students to practice their public speaking skills.

Directions:

• Each slide will have a number and that number represents how many actors will participate in the improv.
• Actors will be given a challenge to act out a different scenario and will decide who plays what role as a team.
• Actors should draw a card to decide if they are playing a passive, assertive, or aggressive role.
• They must portray a passive, assertive, or aggressive tone as they act out the scenario.
• The student audience will try to guess what tone each actor is portraying.

Lesson Overview

This project has students using real-world math skills to learn to perform the calculations that are done in energy related jobs. They will use formulas (included) to learn how to compute percentages and fractions, calculate things such as electrical wattage, current, and voltage; and other basic math skills used in this industry.

Are your students always asking "When will be ever USE this??" This short activity shows students a real world use for the math skills they learn every day.

This lesson was created for 7th and 8th grade, but could also be used successfully in upper elementary grades.

This project will allow you to focus on two inventors. The first inventor will come from the “old” category. You are to choose any inventor that introduce a new product/invention BEFORE THE YEAR 2000. Your second inventor, the “new” one, must come from one of FORBES magazine’s “30 Under 30” lists.

Give your students the opportunity to explore many different careers in a fun and interactive way! This "What Career" card game is played similar to the card game "Apples to Apples" and my students LOVED it! Welcome to Engineering and Technology! Before we begin to see how engineering and technology affect our lives on a daily basis, let’s look at what is encompassed under the CTAE (Career, Technical and Agricultural Education) umbrella. We are going to do this by looking at a CTAE Pathway at the college level vs. a Math/Science Pathway at the college level. We are going to look at Kennesaw State University’s programs in several of these categories. Since KSU’s merger with Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Technology, this is a great place to look at several college options in each of these pathways.

• Put students into groups or breakout rooms of 4-6 students
• Go over the directions with students:
