As the winter days wind down and the spring weather approaches, many come out of hibernation. The spring season is often a time for children to play outside, participate in outdoor sports, and just enjoy the feeling of being outside in the fresh air. However, during this warm and bright season, it can also be a time of anxiety for children. Children in the upper elementary and middle school grades typically take standardized testing, which is mandated by the state. The months of April and May can actually be quite daunting for some students, which is why this spring yoga sequence is such a great addition to children’s routine. In teaching students yoga poses and breathing techniques, not only can they learn something new but they can also learn techniques that can help ease their stress and anxiety, especially when it may come to test taking.

This Mother's Day activity will make a perfect Mother's Day memory book for a child to make about their mother! Students will have the opportunity to write and/or draw different things about their moms. There are two formats to the book, one set having primary lines for students to write on and another set the no lines at all.
These flip books has the following sections for the students to fill out:
1. My Mom Likes: Students will write about or draw things their mother likes.
2. My Mom Does Not Like: Students will write about or draw things their mother does not like.
3. What My Mom Does: Students will write about or draw their mother's occupation, or what they think the occupation is.
4. I love when my mom: Students will write about or draw something they love their mom doing for or with them.

Life Cycle of a Butterfly Facts and Questions

Writing a story about a pet Peep is a project for your students to show their creativity. This product includes information to share with your students about what a story is, what is shared in a story, who the audience can be, what is the author's purpose for writing a story, and how the story can be published. - Figuratively Speaking: In the third task, students must identify the figurative language device used in pop songs by current artists like The Chainsmokers, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran. Shaded letters in the correct answers form the third code.
- A Dream Deferred: In the fourth task, students must perform a close reading of Langston Hughes' "A Dream Deferred." This is perfect for the end of the school year as students reflect upon their dreams for the future. The letters of the multiple choice questions about the poem will form the fourth code.
- Jig Saw Quote: In the fifth and final task, students must assemble a jig saw puzzle with a famous and inspirational quote. (We can't give that away here!)
