Students read or watch A Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my students read A Christmas Carol and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, for an engaging activity before the holiday. A Christmas Carol was a challenge for the students, so watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a fun distraction.

Students will discuss both stories and complete a Venn Diagram based on the information. A great visual aid to comparisons and contrasts.

Students can reach connections and have discussions with the information they gather.

These graphic organizers are a great resource to use when reading content, taking class notes, for formative assessment, or incorporating into other assignments and activities. These can be used on a daily basis and in a variety of settings. Ready-to-pint!

It has been proven that students who are able visually to organize the content retain it better. These 10 organizers will teach students how visually organize the information presented in social studies, science, math, and language arts. I use these on a daily basis to help students learn how to organize the material being covered. The T-Note organizer is a great training tool to use in teaching students how to create clear and neat notes. It also encourages students to inquire. This resource is an introduction to natural disasters. It contains five informational reading passages about natural disasters. It was made for the NGSS 3-ESS3-1 and 4-ESS3-2 Earth and Human Activity Standards. It covers the following

The passages were written with third graders in mind, but the information is very interesting and complex and would be useful for upper grades as well.

There is a tips sheet for teachers and two recording sheetsfor students. One recording sheet is a graphic organizer for students to fill in as they read. The other one asks them to draw and label the natural disaster they have studied.

These are great to use with the whole class, in small groups, with partners, and even at centers!

Coaching Science Olympiad is one of the most exhausting but rewarding academic extracurricular activities. You will see students grow and learn so much and see their love of science and STEM expand!
