Make your own book template! Kids love writing their own stories. This is an easy to print document that students can put together themselves to make their own book. Working on vocabulary or spelling words? Have students copy them at the beginning of the book and then use them throughout the story. My students LOVE storyboards! They are a great resource for introducing basic story elements and summarizing, I use colorful file folders or large manila/construction paper. There are illustrations to color which are surrounded by dotted lines to make cutting easier. There are also interactive flaps for writing the beginning, middle and ending as well as places to write about the characters, setting and summary. This storyboard can be used as a companion activity for The Gingerbread Man.
