These stories each focus on a different vowel to encourage long and short vowel sounds identification and differentiation. The stories also allow students the opportunity to practice sequencing the events in the story after they've read it.

Use this sheet to assess your student counting to 50. Highlight missed/prompted numbers to see where mistakes are occurring.

Use this poster to help your students learn how to identify if a word problem is calling for addition or subtraction. This is just one page of my St. Patrick's Day Math Activity Bundle! Students can use the pictures to count the groups and find their combined totals. This is a great way to introduce and practice addition with your young learners or your learners in special education. This worksheet uses fun St. Patrick's Day clipart from CK Clipart.

Use these mats for small groups or independent practice with one or two dice. Students roll the dice, count the dots, use manipulatives to represent the number, locate the number, and practice writing the number. Print and laminate the sheet or put it in a page protector to use with a dry erase marker for repeated use.

Updated to include a version of the mats with tens frames to help "make" the numbers.

Students will roll a die, count the dots, and color in a box above the corresponding number. Students can count how many times each number was rolled to find which had the most and fewest rolls.

Students can use this blending board to "drive" small cars to each letter, stopping at the circles to state the letter sounds. Students can "drive" the cars faster or more slowly to practice blending sounds to make words.

Use these task cards for math centers. Students can match the word problem to the picture equation and fill in their answers on the answer sheet provided. Equations cover numbers 1-10. Based on ability level, students can use the single tens frame and the number cards to represent a given number using manipulatives. Students who are ready for more of a challenge can roll dice to create an addition problem and use the tens frames to represent and solve the addition problem using manipulatives.
