Less than $5 1st Grade Christmas, Chanukah, & Kwanzaa Activities (by date, oldest first)

Christmas Color by CVC Word puzzles covering short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each color by word puzzle features 4 to 5 CVC words for a vowel family in two difficulty levels for 10 puzzles total. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. In the word clue set, students have the CVC word to look at and find the matching word to color in the puzzle. No prep! Just print and go.

Need a fun and practical Christmas craft or parent gift? This is a quick, easy and fun craft for your students to make to create a Christmas tree topper!

What is Included:

• One angel template

To create this angel Christmas tree topper you will need one angel template, something to color with, scissors, glue or tape, colored construction paper and a toilet paper roll.

How to Create

• Allow students to color and decorate their angel template however they wish, then let them cut out their angel.
• Trace each student's hands onto the colored construction paper and then let them cut out each handprint.
• Glue or tape the handprints to the back of the angel to create its wings.
• Glue or tape the toilet paper roll to the back of the angel.
• Place the finished angel to the top of your Christmas tree to enjoy all season.

Where is the present? This Christmas sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

What is Included:

How to Play:

Where's the Present is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a present is hidden behind a Christmas tree. If the present is not behind the Christmas tree, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

Decorate your tree and practice shape recognition and counting at the same time! Students will draw or glue the desired shapes onto their tree to create their very own shape Christmas tree! There are three ways to complete this activity: 1. Draw a shape: Students will pick cards and draw the correct number of that shape onto their tree.
