Valentine's Day Reading Comprehension and Sequencing Craft

Students will love this Valentine's Day themed, educational activity that goes along with one of my favorite Valentine's Day books: There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose.

UPDATE! This activity now includes link to a DIGITAL version of the activity and assessments so you can continue to use this with your remote learners.

No book? No problem! A link to the story read aloud on YouTube is included on the directions page!

Use with the book There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Rose. Students can read the story and use the picture "leaves" to sequence the events of the story as they add leaves to their rose.

Includes a differentiated sequencing assessment (fill in the blank and multiple choice versions) along with a list of seven easy ways to differentiate instruction with this resource.

Valentine's Day Color by CVC Word puzzles covering short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each color by word puzzle features 4 CVC words for a vowel family in two difficulty levels for 10 puzzles total. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. In the word clue set, students have the CVC word to look at and find the matching word to color in the puzzle. No prep! Just print and go.
