Felt-boards (or flannel boards) are a fabulous method of sharing music and rhythm with children by using visual props along with songs. My collection of songs and poems will help you to use your felt-board to its fullest potential. This resource includes 10 packets of five worksheets (totaling 50 differentiated worksheets). Each worksheet contains five pictures. Next to each picture is a “Bubble Letter Box” that contains 6 letters. Students have to determine which three of those letters make up the word of the pictures. They will color in the correct letters they hear when they say the word, then write the picture word on the writing line - FUN and CHALLENGING!

The directions ask students to look at the picture, say the word, color the sounds they hear when they say the word, and then write the word on the writing line. These worksheets are completely differentiated!

Each packet includes the following forms of differentiation:

Worksheet #1: No assistance. No letter has been provided for students. Students look at the picture, say the word, and select, color, and write the three letters from the “Bubble Letter Box” on the writing line. This worksheet is intended to challenge Higher Level students.

Worksheet #2: Little Assistance. The first letter from the “Bubble Letter Box” has been provided on the writing line. Students must select the last two correct letters from the “Bubble Letter Box” and write it on the letter line.

Worksheet #3: Greater Assistance. The first and second letters from the “Bubble Letter Box” have been provided on the writing line. Students must only select and write the correct last letter from the “Bubble Letter Box” and write it on the letter line.

How I use these:

• Students read the 25 words or phrases across and down coloring a star at the end of each row and the bottom of each column.
• Number the rows or columns and use as a Roll and Read (six = students choice)!
• Once words/phrases have been practiced, introduce a timer to develop automaticity!
• Send home to read with families or use as a partner read warm up!

These are Sea Life-themed posters to add to an ELA Word Wall! If you are doing an ocean-themed classroom, these would be a great addition!

This product includes a title poster for the ELA word wall, sections for different vocabulary words (which include: parts of speech, story elements, genres, figurative language, and testing vocabulary), and some vocabulary words for each section.

I included an image on the section posters (not the Lorax Clipart) that will have a matching picture on the vocabulary words to help stay organized. Also included are blank posters for each section so you can add more words to your wall, along with a completely blank section poster to create your own!
