Are you looking for a quick, fun way to get your students practicing the conjugations of regular AR verbs in ANY tense or mood in Spanish? Try out my all-new Cuadritos game for free! This fun, no-prep activity is an engaging way to practice verb conjugations and sentence writing! You can specify the tense and mood, so this could be used at any level! All you need is one copy of the game sheet for each group and recording pages for each student.

This activity can be done in pairs or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing Cuadritos and beg to play whenever we get the chance!

Directions

Materials Needed:

• One of the 10 worksheets or the editable template where you add your own words
• A regular six-sided die
• Colors
• Optional: A device with a QR code scanner (phone, tablet, etc.)

Rolling the Die:

• Students roll a six-sided die to determine which color word they read in Spanish.
• Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the Word:

• Students match the number rolled with the corresponding color word on their worksheet.
• Students read aloud the color in Spanish to practice pronunciation.

Marking Progress:

• Once students read a word, they should shade in color the box using the color that matches the Spanish word read.
• If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.
• Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the words on their worksheet.

These Spanish Scenario Task Cards are geared towards Hobbies and Free Time situations. Scenario Task Cards are a great, NO PREP way to get your Spanish 2, 3 and 4 students speaking or writing and using language creatively! They have open-ended prompts for students to use while speaking or writing.  (These are generic enough to be used with any curriculum!)  

There are 20 different scenarios which give students an idea of what to talk about in a story that they make up. The task cards come in 3 versions!  First I have a large scale digital version that can be displayed for the class.  The other version is printable (4 cards per page) and comes in both black and white and an attractive color version. Slides come with helpful vocab that students may need to discuss the scenario.

These Hobbies and Free Time scenario task cards feature scenarios perfect for practicing talking about different things students or adults like to do in their free time.  The prompts ask students to talk about themselves and others in present, past and future time frames.  The prompts are in English. Google Slides can be modified if you need to change something to meet your students’ needs!

This brand new activity combines reading and coloring to produce a fun way for your students to learn or review the present tense verb endings. These sheets are great for last-minute sub plans or days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc) as well as reviewing or reinforcing stem-changing present tense verbs. Included are three worksheets – one each for o-ue verbs, e-ie verbs, and e-i verbs, plus colored answer keys.

Are you looking for a French dictée - dictation exercise with an interdictions et devoirs theme for your beginner level students? Do you struggle to find themed dictées that match beginner level French grammar?

Dictées are great activities for building listening comprehension and writing skills. This is a beginner level French dictée with an en cours de français theme.

Included:

• Six sentences
• Theme - En cours de français
• Basic grammar
• Present tense - être, devoir, avoir, falloir
• Infinitives - parler, discuter, écouter, participer, utiliser, envoyer, mâcher
• Definite, indefinite, and partitive articles

Included:

➯ Video presentation of the dictée. Watch me and listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. Many non-natives find it makes the listening comprehension part of dictation exercises more manageable to see the speaker's mouth. Once I've finished reading the dictation, I will present each written sentence in French along with the English translation. Once we've gone through all of the sentences and students have checked their work, I will present the complete text in paragraph form on the screen. At that time, we can slowly read through the complete text together so they can see how the separate sentences actually form a short story.

➯ Audio presentation of the dictée. Listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. This version of the exercise will be more challenging as students will not see the speaker's mouth.

What to turn your Spanish reading comprehension or grammar review into a game?  Using CI to give your students contextualized, comprehensible input?  This Magic 6’s game will motivate, engage and deliver all the CI your students need!  Students will fill in a cloze-style reading with verbs that need to be in the present tense.  But they are racing their opponent!  This adds interest and a bit of drama to the activity, keeping students fully engaged!

The reading is about a new restaurant in town called Sabor Express.  Students will take turns rolling a die to get a 6, or filling in the answers.  Once a student has rolled a 6, they must give the pencil to their opponent.  While they have the pencil they must read in context to figure out what verb form is needed.  When they get to the end, there are several comprehension questions about the reading itself. 

This reading is meant for Intermediate Low students.  It focuses on restaurant, health and illness vocabulary and present tense.  This resource also comes with a present tense “cheat sheet” for students who need support or differentiation. Any part of this resource can be customized for your students if needed!  The teacher answer key and detailed instructions are also included.  It’s everything you need for a high energy class with lots of CI, but low energy for you!

➯ Video presentation of the dictée. Watch me and listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. Many non-natives find it makes the listening comprehension part of dictation exercises more manageable to see the speaker's mouth. Once I've finished reading the dictation, I will present each written sentence in French along with the English translation. Once we've gone through all of the sentences and students have checked their work, I will present the complete text in paragraph form on the screen. At that time, we can slowly read through the complete text together so they can see how the separate sentences actually form a short story.
