Volcanoes Adapted Notes and Review

This product includes vocabulary, notes, and review for students that are learning about volcanoes.
Vocabulary words that are emphasized in this packet include: volcanoes, magma, crater, ash cloud, magma chamber, layers of ash, vent, lava flow, active volcanoes, extinct volcanoes, dormant volcanoes, Earth's crust, tectonic plates, lithosphere, divergent boundaries, transform boundaries, convergent boundaries, Mount St. Helens, and Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI).
This product on volcanoes covers what a mountain is, how magma comes up to the surface which causes volcanoes to form and erupt, explosive volcanic eruptions compared to effusive volcanic eruptions, students will look at a diagram of a volcano and will label the parts of the volcano using the key, students will learn where volcanoes are found and the three different types of volcanoes - active, extinct, and dormant. Where magma volcanoes form, how pieces of the Earth's surface move slowly, what is the lithosphere and where it is located, where tectonic plates are located in the structure of the Earth, tectonic plates and the three boundaries and how they are different from one another - divergent, transform, and convergent boundaries, students will also learn about Mount St. Helens eruption on May 18th, 1980, students will also learn safety tips and how to prepare for a volcanic eruption, students will analyze two charts: how volcanoes are measured using the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) and some volcanic eruptions in the 21st century, and students will choose a volcano to research and will answer questions after conducting research about a volcano in the packet provided at the end of the product.
Throughout the product, students will answer comprehension questions, true/false questions, multiple choice questions, will label diagrams to ensure comprehension as they are learning about volcanoes.

This product focuses on the following areas: This product provides students with information regarding stress. Students will complete a stress test and reflect on what may cause them stress. Fight/flight/freeze response is also reviewed in this product and how it relates with stress. Once students have taken the stress test, they will analyze their results. Students will work in groups and complete the packet regarding the effects of stress. Students will answer questions such as how they felt when they were feeling stressed, etc. Students will review the effects of stress charts provided that include what happens when the body is in fight or flight compared to when it is relaxed. Students will also learn about the emotional, physical, and mental effects of stress and see how they differ from one another. Students will learn what stress and stressors are when they discuss coping with stress. Healthy and unhealthy strategies to cope with stress are included in this product. Students will take time to reflect on a time when they were stressed or if they were stressed and answer questions regarding making healthy or unhealthy choices to cope with stress.
Throughout this product, students will answer comprehension questions and will also be presented with social scenarios that they may encounter where they are asked how they would feel or what they would do. An attitude survey regarding mental health that contains 10 questions is also included in this product. Students will compare their results when they are finished and will go over the correct answers.

The Berenstain Bears Don't Pollute Anymore Comprehension Questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about pollution, endangered animals, surviving in our environment, importance of clean air, water, and healthy soil to grow food, planting trees when trees are cut down, ecology, conservation, recycling, reducing pollution in your community, things to recycle, and how to help your environment. In this packet, students can also complete a mini endangered animal report where they will be required to chose an endangered animal from the list provided and answer questions about that animal, such as where it lives (habitat), what it eats, how long it lives for, interesting facts about that animal, etc. Students can answer the short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. This product focuses on the following areas: This product includes a brief teacher guide that discusses the importance of promoting self-care for mental health and overall well-being, suggestions are provided for short mindfulness exercises for teenagers, emotional responses to various situations that may arise - both positive self-talk and negative self-talk, the importance of being unable to change the situation, but changing the way we think about something and how we feel and act, students will take time to reflect on a time they felt upset about something and what happened when they used both negative and positive-self talk, the importance of our mental health, mood, and motivation are shared, examining unhealthy thinking styles, and recognizing negative-self talk in given situations that relate with jumping to conclusions, personalization, catastrophizing, shoulding, overgeneralization, labelling, emotional reasoning, magnification and minimization (the definition of each is provided along with examples). Students will then write down ways that they would challenge and change their negative self-talk in order for it to become positive self-talk to help improve mental health, mood, and motivation.
This product can be used for 7th - 12th grade students depending on maturity and academic level.
