The Video of The Day is on PowerPoint and can be used every morning during your Morning Meeting routine. All you have to do is bring up the PowerPoint each morning and play the video on the slide. If you would instead use a different video one day, you can delete the video and add your own! 

Students will infer, visualize, synthesize, and create connections with the videos.  Looking closely at a video is an important reading skill for students to develop to create inferences about what they are watching. Therefore, the inferences they are creating about the videos will lead to connections and inferences within their reading texts. Students who practice those skills outside of reading will most likely utilize those same skills while reading. You will need to teach students how to do that throughout the school year with the PowerPoint. 

Additionally, the Video of The Day can be used for writing prompts or centers. Students can view the video and write a story based on the video. The students may also write predictions on what they think would happen next if the video continued.
