Nonsense words, or "alien words," are non-existent words that follow phonetic patterns. By practicing decoding these words, students strengthen their ability to apply phonics rules and sound out unfamiliar words encountered in text.

The h-insertion trick can be an extremely helpful strategy to use when children are stuck at the isolation level of a sound. By producing /h/ after the initial sound, the child continues their air flow, making it easier to produce the following vowel. French Decodable Sentence Strips that align with the Science of Reading and current Modern Language Standards 1.0. The easy to use decoding and encoding strips can be used in the K-2 French classroom with little to no preparation.

Make a few copies of each card and insert into clear pockets to create a quick and easy reading centre; arrange a table with four copies to create a quiet reading group; use one-on-one with your students to assess reading levels, to gain insights to their decoding skills, encoding skills, and to inform your upcoming lesson plans. It has the English word - picture depicting the word - Arabic word - English phonetic pronunciation of Arabic word. This set was designed to facilitate communication between the teacher and Arabic students and to teach school tools Arabic name's to English students.

This a Power Point to practice the -ug word family. Students will see a picture to discuss, then the beginning sound will zoom in and then the end sound will zoom in to combine into a word (with sounds). One more click will give you a sentence using the specific -ug word. Words included are: bug, dug, hug, jug, lug, mug, pug, rug, tug, chug, drug, plug, shrug, slug, and snug. You can use many reading and ESL strategies with this PP. These can be printed in black and white as flashcards, but just so you know the beginning sound is separate from the ending sound.
