These one page math practices are perfect for your 3rd grade math unit. Each page/review focuses on one of the standards of the Numbers & Operations in Base Ten strand (3.NBT). Each math review also comes with a key for easy grading. Students will show their understanding of rounding to the nearest tens and hundreds. Some of the other standards they will practice are fluently add & subtract within 1000 and multiply one digit numbers by multiples of ten.

These pages can be used at the beginning of the unit to see what students already know, or at the end of the unit to see what the students have understood. These practice pages are ready to use, all you need to do is print. There are 6 total pages included.

Cartoon Last Character Standing

Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. These clip cards are a great way to test students’ knowledge of recognising fractions using a physical multiple choice system. It includes all simpli ed fraction forms from 1/2 to 9/10s, and includes one bonus card of 10/10, and contains fractions in the form of circles, squares, strips and objects. The given possible answers have been carefully chosen to allow teachers to spot any misconceptions students may have about fractions. harvest2020

The idea of this activity is that students work our what fraction of the given image is shaded, then clip a clothespin/peg or a paperclip to what they think is the correct answer.

This activity works equally well when the cards are laminated. Students simply circle the correct answer using a dry erase marker. Alternatively, you can print these on paper, hand out to your class at the end of the lesson, so they can put their names on and circle the correct answer, serving as a great exit ticket/plenary to the lesson.

These cards are in colour, but print equally well in grey scale for cost savings.

Fraction strips are used as a math manipulative and a more hands-on approach to teaching your students to visually see the value of each proper fraction to a whole.

This product is a digital puzzle that requires students to complete 25 identifying fraction problems. The link to the digital puzzle is on a clickable PDF that you would download once purchased. Students will put the answers in the answer box (numerator/denominator or whole number fraction). This activity is no prep and is self checking. If the student puts the correct answer in, the answer box will turn green and a piece of the digital puzzle will appear in the green box to the right. If the student puts in the wrong answer, the answer box will turn red and no puzzle piece will appear. Understanding unit fractions are a great early step in understanding the concept of a fraction. This set of 36 task cards gives your students 3 steps in understanding unit fractions (fractions with a numerator of 1). The first 12 have labeled number lines and students simply plot the given fraction on the line. The next 12 have students label the number line, then plot the unit fraction. The final 12 task cards have students partition and label the number line, then plot the unit fraction. There are 2 types of answer sheets - one that can be printed double sided, with 18 answers to a page, and a set of 3 (12 questions to a page) breaking the cards down by difficulty level. Fractions represent the parts of a whole or collection of objects. A fraction has two parts. The number on the top of the line is called the numerator. It tells how many equal parts of the whole or collection are taken.  The number below the line is called the denominator.  It shows the total number of equal parts the whole is divided into or the total number of the same objects in a collection. When the whole is divided into equal parts, the number of parts we take makes up a fraction. If a cake is divided into eight equal pieces and one piece of the cake is placed on a plate, then each plate is said to have 1/8 of the cake.
