Writing a story can be so overwhelming! I have come with this writing pack that is intended to help your students organize their ideas before writing their first draft. This step-by-step activity groups every aspect of story writing such as: genre, setting, characters, details, etc. It also helps the students with their descriptive writing by asking them targeted questions. This is an excellent tool for beginner writers, struggling writers, or English Language learners.

** Are you looking for a resource to teach students to understand temporal concepts or are you Teaching sequence of events, Following directions or Sentence writing?  These syntax activities will teach your students how to understand 25, higher level temporal concepts (prior to, simultaneous, thereafter). It is a simple drill in which students are provided with a small scenario containing the word and asked to determine the meaning of the concept.**

You will receive a 26 Slide Lesson which contains the lesson and one Assessment worksheet to print.

The Lesson works well with older students (Grades 6- 10)  or with students who have mild  cognitive delays yet good language skills. An independent lesson will take about 30 minutes however if you are using it as a teaching tool during instruction the lesson can easily fill 60 minutes with breaks in between for group discussion. When I use this lesson with my Speech classroom it takes two  30 minute sessions and 60 minutes total.

Thanksgiving Scattergories Games

These are really fun games to play before and after Thanksgiving with your students as they practice and build their vocabulary. Scattergories is the perfect classroom group game! You can play this game with students of any age or level. Fun for any classroom and perfect for kids learning English - ESL.

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!

6 games are included with 4 different categories on each page. You can either print out the game sheets or project them to save paper and ink. For younger students you can allow more time for them to think and write, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

How to play (written on each game sheet): Come up with as many words as you can that are related to the one at the top of each row. Once the timer goes off, you just count and compare how many words you got for each category with the other players. If they came up with the same word as you, that word doesn't count toward your score. Whoever has the most words per list wins that round.

In this product, students will learn the English vocabulary word for the 33 different pronoun vocabulary words presented.

This product can be used with students who are learning English. It can serve as an in class practice, review, or quiz.

Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language after learning the English word and being shown a picture.

In the second section of the product, students will write each pronoun in English based on the example sentence provided and the picture. At the end of this section, students will have the opportunity to choose 8 pronoun vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each one. Students will also be provided with comprehension sentences regarding pronoun vocabulary words that were presented.

In the third section of the product, students will be required to write the English word and the word in the student's native language based on the picture and sentence provided for each pronoun vocabulary word.

In the fourth section of the product, students will be required to make up a sentence for each pronoun in their native language.

In the fifth section of this product, students will then be required to make up a sentence for each pronoun in their native language.
