4. Collect the letters of encouragement from the parents and distribute to the students prior to state or standardized testing.

There are a total of 44 Character Trait Cards which all include a variety of relatable and realistic scenarios for students to discuss and reflect upon. These scenarios explore a number of Character Traits in which the student is encouraged to identify and record.

This is a great exercise to also explore con-current Character Traits in action where two or more traits exist together and not in isolation to each other. These form a core sense of self and personality. These are great cards to explore character development, social awareness, emotional literacy, empathy, compassion and understanding.

The student may require some reflective questioning should they need prompting as to the Character Traits that are in action. Each card includes visual representations of the character traits to support understanding, discussion and reflection.

In this product that relates with ignoring others, students learn why they should ignore someone if they are not nice to them, how you may feel if someone isn't nice to you, and discuss how you would feel if someone wasn't nice and they weren't ignored, how you could help your friend feel better if they were trying to ignore someone, and what you can do when someone isn't nice.

The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. At the end of this product, there are 4 role-playing scenario cards that will require students to discuss ignoring others that aren't nice, how students would feel in a given situation that relates with ignoring others, and what students can do when they want to ignore someone who isn't nice.

This 90-minute lesson is designed to help students understand the importance of mental health in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate way. Students explore what mental health means, why it matters, and how we can take care of our emotional well-being just like our physical health. The lesson includes a warm-up discussion, vocabulary building, video comprehension tasks, group discussions, personal reflection, and a creative poster activity.

Students will learn key concepts such as emotions, stress, and support, and reflect on how life events can affect mental health. They’ll also discuss helpful strategies for coping with tough feelings and identify ways to support friends and classmates. A printable student worksheet provides multiple activities, including matching tasks, gap-fill exercises, true/false questions, and space for creative and personal responses.

The lesson promotes empathy, communication, and emotional literacy while encouraging a classroom culture where mental health is openly discussed and supported. This is a meaningful way to mark World Mental Health Awareness Week with your class.

The Discussion Game! Students remember and discuss how they have handled emotional situations in the past. Game Rules: One at a time, students pick a card. They tell a story based on what color card they choose. If they chose: Yellow chameleon, they tell a story about a time they had joy, when they were happy. Blue chameleon, tell a story about a time they felt sad. Red chameleon, a time they were angry. Green chameleon, when they were disgusted. Orange chameleon, a time they were surprised. Resource geared towards younger students who are experiencing grief. Perhaps they lost a loved one or a pet and need to process their emotions. A perfect follow-up activity to The Invisible String story.

This is a great way to introduce the concepts of “bucket filling” for the beginning of the year or reminders of self-care and positive and empowering learning environments.

There are a total of 60 cards which includes a particular behaviour and on each card the student is asked to reflect on the situation and choose whether it is a Bucket Filler or a Bucket Dipper. The student may require some reflective questioning should they need prompting as to how and why a behaviour may be a bucket filler or a bucket dipper. These cards are created to facilitate conversation, discussion and insight. This resource includes 60 cards which has a narrative of what is happening in the situation, as well as 60 cards without the narrative to encourage the student to really reflect on the situation.

This is a fun, engaging and creative craft activity lesson which encourages a positive growth mindset for children by focusing on self-love and self-talk. Children are to match unhelpful thoughts with the corresponding helpful grounding thought. This activity will help to encourage children to reframe thinking patterns from negative to positive.

We all have thoughts. Some thoughts are “helpful”. They make us feel confident, happy and brave. Some other thoughts are “unhelpful” and they can make us feel worried, nervous, sad or angry. Throughout this activity, you will explore helpful and unhelpful thoughts and how they impact you. Learning to reframe thought patterns is a powerful life long skill that builds self-esteem, confidence and resilience.

This product includes 1 social story that focuses on ignoring others that are not nice or are teasing/bullying.

In this product that relates with ignoring others, students learn why they should ignore someone if they are not nice to them, how you may feel if someone isn't nice to you, and discuss how you would feel if someone wasn't nice and they weren't ignored, how you could help your friend feel better if they were trying to ignore someone, and what you can do when someone isn't nice.

The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. At the end of this product, there are 4 role-playing scenario cards that will require students to discuss ignoring others that aren't nice, how students would feel in a given situation that relates with ignoring others, and what students can do when they want to ignore someone who isn't nice.

The Sliders Game! Students match the 28 slider scenarios with the correct emotion the scenarios would evoke. they slide the slider portion until the emotion showing matches the emotions the situation would evoke. There is more than one possible answer to scenarios. As long as student reasoning and logic is sound, accept all answers. To assemble: Print Single Sided. Laminate. Cut Apart Half Page Cards. Cut Apart Bookmark Sized Sliders. Leave the white tips at the top and bottom of sliders intact. Only cut vertically. To create the sliders: 1) Cut slits along the two black lines on the situation cards. 2) Place the slider strip behind the card. 3) Push the slider strip through the front of the first slit (from the back), and out through the second slit (from the front). 4) Students slide the slider portion to match the emotion that the situation would evoke. (Refer to the pictures in the product preview) In the end, your students will know more about what situations evoke certain emotions. I hope you and your students love this activity!
