Fraction Foldable Interactive Notebook

By Samantha Louth

Do your students struggle with remembering key math vocabulary? These foldable fraction notes are a perfect addition to their interactive notebooks, helping reinforce essential concepts in a fun and engaging way.

If you're looking for a more hands-on approach to help students add notes to their notebooks, you can turn this into an interactive activity. Simply print the pages separately, and have students glue the definitions alongside the vocabulary words in their notebooks, reinforcing the concepts through active engagement.

Perfect For:

  • Interactive Notebooks
  • Center work
  • Test prep/review
  • 3rd, 4th, or 5th Grade

What's Included:

  • 2 Sheets of Vocabulary Words
  • 2 Sheets of Definitions/Examples
  • 16 vocabulary words total, each accompanied by a corresponding definition and/or example to reinforce understanding

Standards Included:

  • Fractions

Suggestions:

The vocabulary words and their definitions are aligned with the corresponding pages for easy reference. For instance, pages 1 and 2 are designed for seamless printing and preparation. If you plan to use this resource as an interactive activity, be sure to have students cut out the definitions before providing them with the vocabulary words. This ensures that they actively engage with the material rather than having the answers readily available.

Equivalent Fractions Matching Puzzle

By LittleStreams

This equivalent fractions matching puzzle is a fun way to test students ability to recognise equivalent fractions. It contains 18 puzzles including all base fractions up to four- fths, each with equivalents both in image and number form. It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle. Although this product is made in colour, it prints perfectly well in black and white. Each puzzle is the size of an A4 of US Letter sheet. To use less paper, select the pages per sheet option, and the puzzles will be smaller, but still high quality.

Recipe Math Puzzle - Converting Measurements - Peanut Butter Cups/Bars

By A Teachers Sidekick

This is a fun activity for students to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and simplification of fractions by converting measurements for a recipe! The recipe comes from Sally's Baking Addiction, and it is her Peanut Butter Bars Recipe. This can be done as a whole group, in small groups, or by individual students. If you have the ability to have the students make the recipe after solving the puzzle, it is totally worth it! They will love being able to make something that they solved a puzzle for and have a delicious treat afterwards.

Students will be given a list of ingredients that have "weird" measurements on them. They will need to convert all of the measurements into the simplest form. Students will have to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert fractions from improper fractions to mixed numbers and put all of the measurements into simplest form. Once students solve the puzzle and get the correct answers that match the answer key, then they will receive the steps to prepare the Peanut Butter Bars/Cups. ** I recommend doing the bars. They are definitely easier to do, especially in a classroom setting, but the cups do look better. They both taste the same though.**

I hope you enjoy it and make something yummy! Please rate and review.

FRENCH MATHS | GAME/JEU | FRACTIONS | DROITES NUMÉRIQUES | NUMBER LINES | FUN

By French Made Fun!

* There are no words in this game, so this can work for any language. Simply print, cut and laminate. *
