¿Quién no ama los clásicos juegos de mesa? Esta es una adaptación navideña de uno de ellos. Tira los dados y mueve tu ficha. Intenta ser el primero en llegar exactamente a la casilla 36 y no caer en las bombas ya que te harán retroceder. Si aterrizas al comienzo de las flechas avanzarás muchas casillas. Si aterrizas en el primer sombrero, te llevará al segundo sombrero, pero si aterrizas en el segundo, te llevará de regreso al primero. No es necesario saberse las reglas pues al caer en una de estas casillas se activará automáticamente la animación que mueva tu ficha al lugar que le corresponda.

Pueden jugar de 1 a 4 jugadores o grupos de jugadores. Mi consejo es dividir la clase en 2, 3 o 4 grupos. Después de cada movimiento de la ficha, trata de responde uno de los 94 acertijos que aparecerán aleatoriamente al hacer clic en las cartas de preguntas. Cada grupo dará su respuesta por consenso y el grupo que la acierte, o que más se acerque a su respuesta correcta, será el que continúe el juego tirando los dados nuevamente. Right in time for your Christmas instrumentalists, we present to you Mariah Carey's smash hit All I Want For Christmas is You - REMIX for BUCKET DRUMMING!

There are eight all-color coded slides along with the form identifiers listed next to each phrase. Discuss form with the students and teach them (by rote) the rhythms on the powerpoint with the corresponding repeats (most are grouped 3x + 1x with a few 2 and 4 measure repeats). Then, apply it to drums!

All regular notation is to be played on the buckets (or drums, or ground, however you wish), and the X notation (with a down stem) are played as stick clicks above their head (or you could apply it to a tambourine or other auxiliary instrument)

A fun social studies and geography activity for your students to learn about Christmas traditions and cultures around the world. Appropriate for all ages, from middle school through high school. This can be used in all social studies classes and makes a great holiday & winter break activity. Not only will students have fun with this Christmas geography activity, but they will be learning. Every moment is a teaching moment**.**

Students will work in collaborative groups. Each team will need a whiteboard to write their answers on. Each "Hint" slide includes five hints, one displayed at a time until all hints are presented. Each team will be given 10 seconds to write their answer on answer on the board. When the teacher says, "Jingle bells." All teams show their answers. Each team that guesses the correct answer will receive a token.

Note: A map for each team may be of some help. Have fun! I know your students will. For middle school and high school.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Students will be assigned a team.
• As the hints appear on each slide, teammates will determine what country to which the hints are referring.
• You will write your answer on your whiteboard.
• Once all 5 hints are presented, you will have 10 seconds to write the name of the country on your whiteboard.
• The instructor will say “Jingle Bells,” communicating that you may show your answer.
• Each team that gets the answer correct will receive a token.
• At the end of the trivia game, the team that has the most tokens wins!

Through this lesson, students will catch a glimpse into the life of another child, discovering how the winter holiday season is celebrated within their culture/country—whether it is Christmas, Kwanza, Ramadan, Hanukkah, or other winter holidays. Students will be introduced to various ways of life, from South America to Europe to Africa, and will gain an understanding of each winter tradition and celebration.

Students will Adopt a Friend for the holiday Kwanza/ Ramadan / Hanukkah season and will explore ways of life during the holiday season.

Note: (1) This is a research project. Will need a zip file reader to open the file.

The paper is passed from student to student twice more until the story is resolved. When the stories are finished, the worksheet is returned to the original student who can then make edits and is responsible for producing a final draft.

With this intrinsically engaging activity, each student has the chance to tap into their creativity while applying knowledge of the 7 steps of Freytag's Pyramid. It is a great activity to introduce or reinforce the plot diagram and is perfect for getting students in the Christmas spirit. Since it runs itself, the lesson is also great for substitute plans or on those days when you need a quick plan to get you through the day. I trust you will find that your students will ask for this activity again and again!

This product is a differentiated math mystery that is aligned with the 4th-grade Engage NY/Eureka math curriculum and focuses on prime/composite numbers, factors, multiples, long division and multi digit multiplication. It includes a scenario explaining what the problem is- Mrs. Claus is missing. The product has a suspect list of 10 people (students should recognize many of the characters from movies and books!), and 5 clues that narrow down the suspect list to just one person. Each clue has a worksheet A & B and an answer key for all worksheets. Worksheet A for each clue aligns with the standards but at a lower level for students who struggle with this skill. Worksheet B is a more challenging version for higher-level students to offer enrichment. A BOOM Cards™ Escape Room Activity & a printable Escape Room Activity about the traditions of Christmas around the world. The NO PREP activities are ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in fifth grade or sixth grade.

For first time BOOM Card™ users, the resource comes with an explanation of how to assign the cards to your class, and has lots of useful links to support you using the activity.

Both activities follow a similar format, with slight variances to the BOOM Cards version to allow the resource to be digital and self-marking.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Christmas and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will complete a crossword puzzle by answering ten questions. Answering these questions correctly will reveal some hidden letters which need to be unscrambled to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will sort 27 timeline task cards about famous holidays, putting them in order from the earliest date in the year to the latest. When they have finished their third word will be revealed.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Engaging activities for literature:

"A Christmas Carol" Vocabulary: Students will find the given words within the novel "A Christmas Carol" and record the sentence in which the word can be found. I had the students complete these sheets after reading the section of the book.

Creative activity: Students participate in an activity where they will write and illustrate their stories of Christmas past, present, and yet to come, in a way that is similar to what happens to Scrooge in the novel.

Students loved sharing their stories and hearing the hopes their classmates have for their futures.

As a culminating activity: Students read or watch A Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my students read A Christmas Carol and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, for an engaging activities before the holiday. They will practice comparing and contrasting in three different ways, including an exciting snowball fight.
