Weather & Feelings - Weather is a recurring theme in classical music. Does a musical piece remind the listener of a snowy day or a pleasant sunny afternoon? Students can select the weather symbols that come to mind. Is the music happy or sad? A set of emotional characters allows your group to pick the feelings that best relate to a piece of music.

Festive way to make connections:

Students read or watch A Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my students read A Christmas Carol and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, for an engaging activity before the holiday. A Christmas Carol was a challenge for the students, so watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a fun distraction.

Students will take notes on the provided worksheets to help keep track of information and make connections in a visual format. Notetaking helps keep students engaged in both stories. This also helps the students look at well know material in a new way.

This active and engaging resource gets students moving and discussing. Students will make paper snowballs out of the provided cards. They will then use these for a snowball fight. When time is up, students will find a partner, uncrumple the paper, and have a discussion.

Students can reach connections and have discussions with the information they gather.

Make your Christmas Holiday Party Games fun with this engaging, hands-on pin the red nose on the reindeer making activity! This includes 1 low-prep reindeer template perfect for having fun with Christmas holiday reindeer. Quick and easy setup plus clear student directions make this activity perfect for centers or substitute days, too!

Lead your students in a fun game of pin the tail on the donkey/aka pin the nose on the reindeer by cutting out the red noses, taping the reindeer on the wall, blindfolding a child and letting them see how close they get to the reindeer nose. Students will love playing pin the nose on the reindeer together by using their problem solving skills & guessing through this fun activity, and won't even realize how much they're having fun!
