There are two passages about animals that use camouflage, two about animals that use chemicals, two about animals that use mimicry, and two about animals that use another method of defense. The passages are written on different levels and are of different length making it easy to differentiate. There are corresponding recording sheets to help students show what they have read about. Links to videos and students friendly internet sites are included too.

The passages were written with fourth graders in mind, but the information is very interesting and complex and would be useful for upper grades as well.
