Whether it's in person or online, your students will LOVE this coffee-themed summarizing activity and printables set. Using the SWBST visual prompt strategy, students will learn and practice summarizing a story (ANY story!) by stating the main character, what the character wanted, the problem, the solution, and the resolution. Ideas for differentiation are included to easily meet the needs of all of your students.

Coloring knights in armor keepsake bookmarks with cute dragons, castles, and swords, could be used as brain breaks, as rewards for students, or as a fun coloring activity at a party, could be added to letters or mailed with cards, or attached to gift baskets and goodie bags.

Use this graphic organizer to help students retell any story. Students will practice retelling only the most important parts of a story. Each section - Beginning, Middle, and End has a box for an illustration as well.

The Chapter Book Response Sheets can be used with any chapter book. This product comes with 14 different response sheets-students can complete a response sheet after each chapter or after several chapters. My "big" kids in grades 5 and 6 have been struggling with their French sounds - both basic and complex - and we're backtracking! However, because of their unique needs, I was struggling to find texts at their level that featured these complex sounds - in excess - for them to practice, see in real life and to work with them in guided readings or 1:1. I was finding myself scouring my shelves for books that had ample opportunities for them to see and practice a certain sound and wasn't having success; so I decided to create texts that hone in on specific sound formations they're struggling with, have never properly learned, or have forgotten. They are texts which feature vocabulary at the grade 5-6 instructional level.

I was also tired of running back and forth from my literacy lab to find reading records and wanted to have them printable from my classroom. If you're in a similar boat, this is the product for you!

This collection features 44 pages of resources:

- 12 texts (student version to be printed and used in small groups or 1:1)

- 12 texts (teachable version with sounds highlighted, or for differentiated instruction)

- 12 "fiches" to use as a fiche d'observation/fiche d'évaluation en littératie in a 1:1 setting featuring columns you're used to seeing (Erreurs, autocorrections, S | St | V strategies, Fluidité, Date, Nom de l'évaluateur et nom de l'élève). I've also provided you with a handy accuracy calculator so you don't need to pull out your calculator for each individual text. I've been asked by many to create a document that encompasses lots of comprehension texts and questions, specifically related to science. Interdisciplinary approaches are becoming more popular, but it's not always easy to find texts that meet the needs of our curriculum!

This 73-page document includes 22 different texts directly linked to grade 6 science units; including biodiversity and protecting our planet, space and the solar system, air and flight, as well as grade 5 concepts including forces and structures and matter.

All except two texts come with comprehension questions.

These will allow you to explore texts in your LA reading blocks, and will allow your students to improve their comprehension. These texts are informational, or hybrid texts that will give your students rich, meaningful readings. They're printer-friendly, with no foolish fonts or babyish images.

I was tired of the babyish clipart and hard-to-read fonts that I was finding on posters and anchor charts so I created these printable or projectable posters to bring some colour and life to your French Immersion classroom... and to give students the visual reminder to use their strategies they've developed up until this point. You can also use them to remind you of the mini-lessons you ought to cover, and provides a visual to your students for your mini-lesson instruction.

This ressource saw an overhaul in summer 2024, and now includes two formats to choose from: One features diverse students (the original) and another featuring a more readable font with simple images. Your choice to use one, both or mix and match!
