Multilingual ESL Sports List Flashcards English-Spanish-Arabic-Russian-Chinese
By Zaazoua Mostapha
Make your ESL classroom look different from a regular education room by considering these multilingual Sports List Flashcards.
Each label takes up 1/4 of a page so they are nice and big, but not too obtrusive. There are 53 Sports for a total of 14 pages. Check out the thumbnail and the preview of some pages in the pictures. They each feature the English verb in big, bold black letters while the other languages are in a smaller font and in different colors. Languages included are Chinese (simplified/Red), Arabic (Violet), Russian (Green), and Spanish (Brown). To help aid meaning, I've included illustrations.
The 53 sports included are: badminton, baseball, archery, volleyball, canoeing, chess, basketball, boxing, cycling, diving, climbing, cricket, golf, gymnastics, fencing, football, horse racing, ice hockey, handball, hockey, kayaking, kiteboarding, judo, karate, netball, paddleboarding, lacrosse, marathon, rafting, rock climbing, paintball, polo, rugby, running, roller skating, rowing, skydiving, snowboarding, skateboarding, skiing, surfing, swimming, softball, squash, tennis, track & field, table tennis, taekwondo, athletics, water polo, triathlon, frisbee, american football.
Use these 53 fun and colorful cards to explore different types of sports in 5 languages - use them as flashcards, a bulletin board or wall display, a memory matching game, or the foundation for more difficult practice of your choice like recognizing sports and many more.

⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻
This resource is great for:
This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Forms, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets, phones or computers, and is easily assessed by teachers as all the answers are provided in a quick and easy format.
⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻
Time allowance to complete:
5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.
40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
Time allowance to assess:
A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.
Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)
