6th Grade Statistics - Game Show Review Game
By The M-Intercept
This is the perfect way to review your 6th grade statistics unit!
Students will love this Jeopardy-like game to review the Statistics standards. This game is aligned with Common Core standards. Categories include STATISTICAL QUESTIONS, DATA DISTRIBUTION, MEASURES OF CENTER, DATA DISPLAYS, SUMAMRIZE DATA, AND VOCABULARY. Points range from 100 - 500, which reflect the increase in difficulty from 100-point basic review questions to 500-point questions that require students to apply their knowledge.
**FULLY EDITABLE** While the game is complete, it is also editable in PowerPoint, making it easy to add questions or change the level of difficulty based on your students' needs.
STATISTICAL QUESITONS: questions require students to determine whether or not a question is statistical, and identify that variability is required for statistical questions.
DATA DISTRIBUTION: questions cover finding the range, explaining the shape of the data, and the 500 point question asks students to find the mean absolute deviation (MAD).
MEAURES OF CENTER: questions involve finding mean, median, and mode from both lists of data and after looking at various data displays.
DATA DISPLAYS: questions revolve around dot plots, histograms, frequency tables, and box plots.
SUMMARIZE DATA: questions require students to draw conclusions from data, determine possible questions asked, and connect data to different situations.

Real-Life Math Fun Activity! Practical Stats - Do tall students jump high?
By Daniel
It is always a good strategy to review essential skills with your students, and this is right up there with the most essential!
Do tall students jump high and far? Do the same students jump high and far? Students collect their own quantitative data to answer these and other questions. The data collection does not take long. Afterwards, students calculate the measures of central tendency - mean, median, mode, Q1, Q3, min, max, range and upper and lower outliers (extremes). The handout (with complete answer key for the teacher) contains the formulas students need in order to do all calculations.
This project has been tried, tested and refined in my own middle and high school classes for many years.
Quantitative Data, Measures of Central Tendency, Mean, Median, Mode, Quartile 1, Quartile 3, Interquartile Range, Outliers, Extremes, Data, Project, Range, Minimum, Maximum.
You might also want to include these resources in the Series on Stats and Data!

FRENCH MATHS | SANS CAHIER/PAPERLESS | DIAGRAMMES/CHARTS | REPRESENTATION
By French Made Fun!
Having trouble visualizing how to "break down" math concepts and how to structure your teaching? New to this grade level or unfamiliar with "how" to teach it? Tired of passing out worksheets? If you're wanting to try something else to see if your students become more engaged and confident in math... Look no further. No book? No problem. Printer broken? No problem. Multi-levelled or split classrooms? No problem.
Imagine math classes that require zero prep, zero paper, zero planning, and slides which not only prompt your students to engage, discuss, solve and prove their understanding, but prompt you to teach concepts at a slow, realistic pace! Imagine not having to write down examples on your board and having more time to assess your students in real time. This document does just that.
This is one my paperless teaching products; where my 89-page Slide Deck will take your hand and guide you to teach following a workshop model. I provide ample explanations, examples, step-by-step instruction, assessment and answer keys. This is EXHAUSTIVE! At the end of this document, you'll find 45 pages of printable activities which can be used for assessment, revision, activities to leave with a substitute teacher.
This was created (and used!) for students in grades 5-7 and works great for older students on IEPs, students en adaptation scolaire, as revision for older grades, or for online learning. Partner work and independent work are imbedded in the slides. Students receive many guided explanations so they can work independently.
Let me teach you - and your students - how charts and data work and how to interpret and analyze statistics. This resource is 50% Slide Deck and 50% printable activities.
In addition to the 45 pages of teachable content, games and guided instruction, there are 43 printable activities and answer keys, including :
5 math situations where students create diagrams based on data and answer questions to deepen their understanding. Among these situations, you'll find:
11 authentic (yet fictional!) real-life situations to interpret data within diagrams. Among these activities, you'll find:

Real-Life Math Fun!Pre-Algebra Quant Data, Evaluate Measures of Central Tendency
By Daniel
It is always a good strategy to review essential skills with your students, and this is right up there with the most essential!
This data and statistics project is a fun practical, real-life way to analyze and compare data by making use of real-life data, statistics and plots like a box-and-whisker and a scatter plot. Refresh the concepts of mean, median, mode, range, 1st quartile, 3rd quartile, outliers, minimum, maximum by comparing how high and how far students in 2 different classes jumped.
This project is tried, tested and refined over many years in my own middle and high school classrooms. It breathes new life into topics that will be stale, boring and old if not done in a real-life way. Students will be able to debate and defend certain viewpoints using the data and their own analysis of it.
Data, Statistics, Box-and-Whisker Plot, Box Plot, Scatter Plot, Mean, Median, Mode, Range, Quartile 1, Quartile 3, Minimum, Maximum, Inter-Quartile Range, Outliers, Correlation, Positive Correlation, Negative Correlation, Correlation Coefficient, Line of best fit.
