Instructions

• Print off the twenty question pages and put them up around the room

• Each question is in the middle of the page and the solution is at the top of another page.

• A student begins on a given question, solves it and finds the answer on another sheet. The question on this sheet will be the next question they answer. Once they have answered all twenty, they will return to their starting question

• Depending on numbers, students can all start on different questions

• There is a student answer sheet included plus the correct sequence

This is a very engaging activity that gets all students thinking and talking about the mean, median, mode, range and the shape of distributions. I use this activity the day after covering mean, median, mode, range, and skewed right/left.

Each student chooses an envelope out of 3 color choices. For example, they can choose from yellow, red, or blue envelopes.​

Each "round" one piece of information is revealed and students are allowed to trade their envelopes with each other with the goal of ending up with the highest number. ​

​

The pieces of information they can choose to be revealed are the mean, median, mode, range, and shape of the distribution. ​As more information is revealed they have more opportunities to trade, using the information provided to determine the best color to have at the end.

This free download is brought to you in collaboration with LittleStreams and it combines two fully differentiated resources covering drawing, reading and interpretation of pie charts.

The first is a pack of six worksheets by LittleStreams the first four are of increasing difficulty drawing pie charts from tables and another two worksheets of increasingly difficulty drawing pie charts from bar charts. Solutions are provided for each worksheet. The second pack in this free download is a treasure hunt on reading and interpreting pie charts, it is differientated to three levels were the green (hardest) level is suitable for GCSE Higher. This statistics graphs 4-piece puzzle is a fun way to test students ability interpret data. Students match the images of fruit to the frequency table and two graph representations (pie charts and bar graphs). It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle. Although this product is made in colour, it prints perfectly well in black and white. Each puzzle is the size of an A4 of US Letter sheet. To use less paper, select the pages per sheet option, and the puzzles will be smaller, but still high quality.

Looking for a no prep and engaging Easter activity that also helps your students practice mean, median, mode and range? Let your seventh graders practice mean, median, mode and range while they solve the mystery in this fun digital escape room activity.

Based on the premise that the rabbit needs help to find four eggs, your students will explore different locations full of activities. After completing all four activities they will find the eggs.

There are 20 problems.

Since this escape room is online (interactive pages) there is very little prep; just provide the link, and off they go! There are no locks to configure or clues to hide—everything you need is online. No Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams logins are necessary.
