Make learning about the French Revolution  interesting with this no-prep digital escape game.  The game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.

Bring history and civics to life through the power of podcasting!

This is a biography writing unit about the life and career of the National Youth Poet Laureate and reader of 'The Hill We Climb' during the 2021 Inauguration of Joe Biden, Amanda Gorman. The unit is ideal for 5th grade and 6th grade and has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in 5th grade or 6th grade learning about U.S. History.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.

This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Slides, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets or computers. If you are unsure how to allow the students to have their own individual copy take a look at the instructional video below:

In this lesson, students choose a woman they feel contributed something important to society and then create a presentation about her and the contribution. This webquest / Internet scavenger hunt is a perfect one day activity for middle schoolers to learn more about Alan Turing and his inventions with these fun questions. It is appropriate for middle school social studies/history, science, math, or technology classes.

The lesson includes the student handout and an answer key, along with a short list of sites that teachers can provide to students to help with the quest if they choose. There are also some additional links to sites if teachers want to expand the lesson. Make learning about French culture and history interesting with this no-prep French digital escape game bundle.  The games include access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.  Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work!  Students can play individually or in teams.

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.
