Questions relate with going to a pumpkin patch/farm, what a pumpkin patch is, is explained, students will answer other questions relating to what they did on their field trip, what the weather was like when they went to the pumpkin patch, what was the first thing they did when they arrived at the pumpkin patch, where do pumpkins grow, the different colors of pumpkins are explained and students will answer the question about what color pumpkins they saw at the pumpkin patch, students will label the internal and external parts of a pumpkin using a key, after they are shown diagrams that are labeled of pumpkins, students will be provided with names of what kinds of popular foods have pumpkin in them and will label the food items using a key on another page in this product, students will reflect on what other items, besides pumpkins were for sale at the pumpkin patch, what their favorite thing was about the field trip, and what kind of equipment they may have seen at a pumpkin patch.

Students will be required to write answers in sentences - short or detailed and fill in the blanks in this product when provided with a key.

What's Included:

• A teach slide for "the why" of speed philosophical chairs

The Steps:

1. A central statement will be announced to the class and we will define the two sides

of the debate (Agree/Disagree).

2. You will move to the side

of the room with the position that you intend to defend.

3. A timer will be set for 5 minutes, and the debate will start between the two groups.

4. Be concise and attempt to keep you contributions to less than 30 seconds each. The goal is to have an up-tempo debate, where the arguments for and against the prompt are batted back and forth with quick, verbal strokes. When the timer goes off, the conversation is immediately over.

5. A new prompt is displayed and we start another round of quick debates.

The Berenstain Bears and the Prize Pumpkin comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about being thankful, competing with others, what happens in the fall - weather, holidays, etc., students will learn what they are thankful for, and will have the opportunity to complete a gratitude scavenger hunt in nature, and not coming in 1st place.

Students can answer these short answer questions and multiple choice questions as they read book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. In this full-length lesson plan, students will closely examine the final lines of Shakespearean characters before their deaths (if you know Shakespeare, there are quite a few!). Following a mini-lesson on the importance of these final words, students will take part in the classic game, Mafia, with a unique, Shakespearean twist. I invented the take on this game several years ago and it has become one of my students' and my favorite days of the whole school year. There is truly nothing like seeing students having a great time while studying and performing Shakespeare. Your students will ask to play this game again and again!

Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about the traditions that people participate in when they celebrate Halloween, how to stay safe on Halloween when going trick or treating, why parents/guardians make rules to follow, and the importance of being kind.

Students can answer these short answer questions and multiple choice questions as they read book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

DIRECTIONS:

• Access your forced copy of the Google Doc with the story, The Landlady on the second slide.

• Go to the last slide to add your own discussion prompts.

• Click "File" then "Download" and then "PDF" to download the prompts as a PDF document.

• Print, cut, and laminate a set of cards for each of your groups of 4-5 students.

• Print, cut, and laminate talking chips.

• Put students into groups of 4-5.

• Decide how many talking chips each student gets (this encourages participation during the dialogue and teaches students how to use social cues when deciding when to share, instead of raising a hand).

• One student draws a card from the top. That student asks the question and dialogue begins in the group. Students should have the short story handy so they can use evidence in their responses.

• When dialogue dies down, students continue taking turns drawing a card, asking questions. and having discussions.

• Students should discard the questions already asked so they don't repeat any.
