Let’s Make Shapes! Yoga & Mindfulness
By Lara Hocheiser
Make shapes fun with yoga. Enjoy this fun activity our founder has been doing in classes since 2009! Shapes are all around us, and we can even make shapes with our bodies.
Use this activity packet to inspire littles ones to explore the world around us with math and shapes.
For years I’ve taught this class to toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners. It’s perfect for early childhood or group where big kids support younger kids. If you have mixed ages, or are working with first or second graders, you can make it interesting by focusing on the number of sides in a shape and placing the poses in order based on the number of sides in the shape. Remember to have fun, allow for mistakes, review the shapes and poses in a light hearted way, and make the children feel like shapes, math, and yoga are their friends.
Let’s Make Shapes! is a 17-page PDF download that you can view on your phone, tablet, computer or print to paper.

WHAT IS A DIORAMA?
A diorama is a 3D scene designed to depict a particular topic or concept. These miniature scenes are assembled using various materials layered together, often within a shoebox or similar container, to visually represent different aspects of the chosen subject.
Students can construct a diorama by cutting, coloring, painting, and gluing different components inside the box. This allows them to create models that convey specific scenarios like historical events or animals in their habitats. They can enhance their scenes by incorporating natural elements like grass, sand, or twigs.
While these dioramas don't come with strict assembly guidelines, students should familiarize themselves with the subject first and then creatively use provided materials to design their unique diorama. This hands-on activity encourages learning in a fun and engaging way.
SIMPLY PRINT - Print the pieces on sturdy cardstock and allow students to explore as an extension of their lesson plans.

Health/ELA - Media and Self Esteem
By Amanda G
How does media effect one's self esteem?
This package contains 6 lessons and a culminating task that will address this topic.
The package is meant to be taught over at least five lessons. With discussion, each page should easily fill a 45- to 60-minute lesson block.
Lessons include:
- definitions and discussion
- Influence of the Media
- self esteem and music videos
- what happens when a "beauty" company helps people see their beauty?
- evolution of an advertisement (print media/photoshopping)
- overcoming stereotypes and negative comments
- Think about how awesome you are
- Hand of friendship (culminating task)
There is currently no final assessment piece included in this package.
Each lesson, except the last, should be started with a gratitude journal page. The idea behind this it to help students see that they have a lot to be grateful for, regardless of what the media may portray to them. The journal pages shouldn’t take anymore than 5 minutes, max. For photo copying purposes, the journal page is placed before the worksheet, for any given lesson.
