Looking for a great story to read for Earth day here is a wonderful children's book about planting and growing a garden.

We are the Gardeners by Joanna Gaines is a fun story about a family who works together to garden. This story teaches the reader about the importance of hard work and never giving up. Along with teaching great morals, this story also teaches about actual gardening (including what animals help, which animals are bad, and what plants need to grow).

Need a quick and fun way for students to review a book they have recently read? Looking for a quick way to check students comprehension? With this Emoji Book Review, students can choose an emoji to represent how the book made them feel as well as answer 4 questions about the book.

Students can begin independently reading right away! Just print, (maybe laminate), and cut! This resource is a handout that matches the slideshow for the same lesson. It is in an easy to print format and can be printed in black and white or color.

I like to give students a ready-to-go reading format after the lesson. I have also included a video of me reading to students so they can hear the pronunciation. This is a great homework assignment as students get input and do not have to worry about getting right or wrong answers. It works perfectly for the flipped classroom, homeschooling, or sub work.

The Misadventures of Max Crumbly - Locker Hero - Book 1 by Rachel Renee Russell is entertaining and encourages my on-level as well as struggling readers to want to read. Upon reading each chapter, students can answer the comprehension questions with help or independently. When students are finished reading this book, they will want to read book 2 for sure!
