ANTICIPATION GUIDES

There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:

▶️ Variation #1:

⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.

⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.

▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

There is ONE Toxic Behavior Self-Assessment included in this resource. Students will assess their likelihood of engaging in toxic behaviors and interactions with others by scoring the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Regularly,” 1 for “Occasionally,” and 0 for “Never.”

The purpose of taking a toxic behavior self-assessment is to gain self-awareness and insight into their tendencies and behaviors that may be considered toxic. It allows them to reflect on their actions, thoughts, and responses in various situations. The assessment can help them identify patterns of behavior that could potentially harm relationships, hinder personal growth, or negatively impact well-being.

Both the Toxic Behaviors Anticipation Guide and Self-Assessment can:

✅ help students understand their own behavior and thought processes better.

✅ help students recognize specific areas where they may need to make positive changes.

Anticipation guides are excellent tools that can be used before reading to activate students' prior knowledge and build curiosity about a new topic and/or to share ideas about key concepts. Students respond to several statements that challenge or support their preconceived ideas about key concepts as well as their peers’ ideas. The Anticipation Guides can help structure meaningful conversations that reviews what students already know and engages them in critical thinking about the topic they will be exploring. The statements in the Anticipation Guides can spark some great discussions among students!! This Anticipation Guide and Self-Assessment focuses on Time Management.

ANTICIPATION GUIDES

There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:

▶️ Variation #1:

⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.

⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.

▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

This resource provides a Time Management Self-Assessment for students. They can evaluate their time management skills by assigning scores using the scale: 2 for "Regularly," 1 for "Occasionally" and 0 for "Never." This tool helps students understand how they manage their time, offering insights into their habits and areas where they can improve.

The purpose of taking a time management self-assessment is to gain insights into stduents' current time management skills and habits. By evaluating responses to specific statements or questions, they can identify areas of strength and areas that may need improvement in how they manage their time. The self-assessment serves as a reflective tool, helping students understand their time-related behaviors, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle various pressures. Additionally, the assessment provides a baseline for tracking progress and implementing targeted strategies for more effective time management. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance productivity, reduce stress, and achieve a better balance between school and personal activities.

These assessment statements can also serve as a means to explore students' competencies and viewpoints regarding the topic!
