Critical thinking activity for small/whole that motivates students to take charge of their learning process. Encourages students to discuss their classroom learning successes as well as disasters. I honestly can't tell you how many students have barged into my office super anxious and full of regret over decisions surrounding their cell phones. This resource allows you to start having open and honest conversations regarding cell phone safety. Images of cell phones with relatable messages for students to relate to. They'll get to read the message and decide if it's safe or not. Students will also get to brainstorm the positives and negatives of owning a cell, and brainstorm rules they feel they should follow in order to be safe and responsible online. Save lots of money while shopping using coupons. This colorful, cheerful binder organizes your coupons and makes it easier for you to find just the right coupon you are looking for while out shopping.Teach your students or children in your household the value of saving money by saving coupons. Create your own coupon binder by using baseball card holders that you can find at many dollar stores or office supply stores. You can either use a two inch or three inch binder to set it up and place all your dividers in. There are two coupon sorting sheets available. Rather than flipping through the pages in your binder to insert coupons which can take a lot of time, you can use the coupon sorting mats. Once your coupons are all sorted then you can place them in your binder. Children of all ages can help with sorting the coupons. Many kids can also help out with gathering coupons and cutting them out. Have your students write about ways they can help their family save money. there are a couple of writing prompts that you could use to have your students share ways that they can help their families save money. This does not necessarily mean just using coupons. It could mean saving money by turning off the lights when not in use, not taking long showers, or turning in cans for redemption. Some kids might write about a job they do such as a paper route, mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Some students might choose to discuss buying items on sale at the store and not demanding expensive name brand items."Older students can work on the total amount of savings from using coupons. They can also work on figuring out percentages to show how much money is saved during each shopping trip and totals for each month. Do your students need additional support identifying money and counting currency to match a price or a purchase? Functional money skills such as counting and identifying money to make purchases are critical to successful daily living. Your students will practice matching the number value to the written value, practicing writing the written value, as well as cutting and pasting the correct currency to the item.

The students will practice writing the dollar amount as well as cut and paste the correct number of dollars to the item shown. Remedial skills, introduction to currency, as well as functional math time are great ways to incorporate these worksheets. These worksheets are in both color and black and white.

This is a creative activity to help foster connection and create a sense of unity and “togetherness” within the family. Learning healthy self-care habits can start at an early age and the good news? Definition:
A Mini Socratic Seminar is a scholarly discussion of an essential question in which student opinions are shared and refined through dialogue with other students in small groups. In this mini format, the teacher or seminar leader facilitates the discussion for the small groups.

Seminar Directions:

• Students choose a group based on the category that best fits them.
• The teacher poses the essential question.
• Students respond to the question through note-taking.
• The teacher chooses a Socratic Seminar leader for each group.
• The leader facilitates the seminar discussion by guiding group members to a deeper and more clarified consideration of the ideas, respect for varying points of view, and adherence to and respect for the seminar process.
• Students may pose new questions when the discussion is exhausted. New questions posed must relate to students’ ideas and contributions in response to the initial essential question.
• Or leaders use the questions in the Google Slides to guide groups.

This product includes 3 social stories that focus on making mistakes, the differences between doing something on purpose compared with by mistake/accident, the importance of apologizing, and how it is normal to make mistakes. Each short story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters who are experiencing a problem. When students are reading each story, they will review how the characters handled the mistakes that they made.
