Halloween Ordering Numbers Math Station includes 24 themed cards with a a set of 4 numbers 100 and below on each card to put in order. You can decide if you want them to order from greatest to least or from least to greatest, or how about both for early finishers. Cut out cards and hang around the room. Have students take recording sheet on clipboard as they search for each "picture" and record their answer. You get 2 Sets of 12 cards. You can use each set at different times or pool them together for a larger set. Each set has a different colored border and it's own recording sheet. It’s best to introduce subtraction with regrouping using concrete manipulatives related to place value such as base 10 blocks. Using base 10 blocks is an effective way to support students in developing a conceptual understanding of subtraction because they are able to see the value of each digit in the number. This visual model helps students understand the regrouping process of exchanging 1 ten for 10 ones or 1 hundred for 10 tens.

Looking for a printable bundle to help your students visualize, draw and understand percentages and decimals? This is part of a larger collection of math manipulatives and visual aides I use in my teaching!

This particular set is built for teaching percentage equivalence. In this set, I've included decimals, percentages and 100s grids for each percentage from 1% to 100% - so there are 100 cards of each - for a grand total of 300 cards on 20 pages. I've thrown in some blank 100s grids which you can laminate and use with a whiteboard marker in your small group instruction! These cards work great under a document camera, for 1:1 or whole group games, for math centres, for your small group work, etc.) You can also use parts as a memory game or they can even be used on a math wall or on your anchor charts. They're great to have on hand when covering number sense, decimal numbers and equivalence to give a visual one-up to your teaching.

This packet focuses on place value for 3 digit numbers. Task cards are available with a 3 digit number and students can build the number using colored hide zero cards or place the correct card that shows the numbers expanded form. There is also a place value matching or concentration game. These activities are perfect for small groups and centers.

Pages 2-11: These are 20 place value cards where students can build the number represented using the place value number cards or the expanded place value cards.

Pages: 12-17: Place Value Number Cards (Hide Zero Cards): Print each set in different colors to use to build the numbers from the place value cards. Pages 12-14 are to be one color, pages 15-16 a second color and page 17 needs to be a third color.

The Case of the Cursed Candy Math Mystery is a Halloween-themed math activity that will have your students solving puzzles, cracking codes, and practicing essential math skills—all while trying to stop a Halloween monster from turning the town's children into real monsters!

What’s the Mystery?

It’s Halloween in the spooky town of Mathigan, and something is terribly wrong with the candy being handed out. When the children eat it, they are transformed into real Halloween monsters! One of the town’s monsters has cursed the candy, and it's up to your students to solve the case. Using math skills, students will work through five clues to narrow down a list of ten suspects and discover who is behind the curse.

This mystery focuses on key place value skills aligned with 4th-grade standards:

• Finding the Value of a Digit in multi-digit numbers
• Comparing Multi-Digit Numbers to determine larger or smaller values
• Adding and Subtracting Multi-Digit Numbers with and without regrouping up to the hundred thousands
• Rounding Numbers up to the nearest hundred thousand

How It Works:

Students begin by reading the backstory of the cursed candy mystery, where they learn about the strange happenings in Mathigan and the list of 10 possible suspects, each with unique motives and magical items. Then, they solve math problems to unlock clues. Each correctly solved problem helps eliminate suspects from the list, bringing them closer to identifying the culprit behind the curse.
